Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Still dealing with a sore shoulder from overuse, but I've been working on improving my upper body warm-up to help with that. This weekend was pretty active and productive though, which was very motivating (I'm super sore now though).

    March 28:

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: So, just as I thought that I was mostly recovered last week from the flu/virus I got in February, it turns out that that was not the case. I still had one lingering symptom that would not go away, and came down with a fever on Tuesday and decided to go to the doctor on Wednesday. The doctor thinks it's probably a secondary bacterial infection that developed, so I've been on antibiotics since Wednesday. I'm cautiously optimistic and think that I've improved a bit since then, and hope to keep improving.

Weightwise, my weight went really down this week compared to last week (109.9 average v. 111.6 average). I had two days this week just under 109 lbs (108.6 and 108.8), which is still within my range, but I was definitely a bit concerned about it and know that it was related to my illness. As a comparison, when I got sick in mid-late February, I had a few days where I weighed in at 109.8 and one 109.6, and hadn't seen anything in the 109 range since June. To counteract the weight I seem to have lost, this week I've been eating extra calories when possible and, while I've continued to track/log them, I'm not counting them against my usual surplus/deficit plan. Since I was feeling a bit better yesterday, I made a pie in honor of Pi day and ate 2 pieces (~800 calories, but I need them!).

Hi! My name is Kristen. And I struggle to maintain my weight. I have had great success losing/gaining, but I'm hoping this group helps me be more accountable. I weigh only 1x week on Sundays, so that's when I'll check in. My 2 goals in 2020 are to not let the scale go above 153 and weigh in EVERY Sunday for the WHOLE YEAR. This seems easy to most, but I get lazy and make excuses why I don't need to weigh in and then all of a sudden everything in my closet has shrunk. LOL

    Age: 41
    Sex: Female
    Height: 5'11"
    Total weight lost: 20 pounds
Time it took to lose: 2 months
How long in maintenance: 2 months
    Starting Weight: 164.8 (September 3rd, 2019)
    Goal Weight: 150 (Hit November 8th, 2019)
    Maintenance weight range: 147 - 153

Average weight recorded for September: 160.1
Average weight recorded for October: 154.0
Average weight recorded for November: 149.2
Average weight recorded for December: 146.4
Average weight recorded for January: 145.4
Average weight recorded for February: 143.4

    Week of...
    March 1st: 142.4 (Trend Weight: 142.6)
    March 8th: 142 (Trend Weight: 142.2)
    March 15th: 142.9(Trend Weight: 142.7)
    March 22nd:
    March 29th:

Successes: I'm happy with the gain this week, but I'm not surprised. I've been drinking more (alcohol) and snacking more. And I'm sure not really knowing what I'm eating has helped balance things out.

Struggles: My company has asked us to work at home until April 6th, and while that excites me, I know it will get really old really fast. I was supposed to start a Public Speaking seminar (8 week, 1x a week) April 6th and with the uncertainty of all this, I will have to push it off until our Summer time slot. Can't teach public speaking in a time of 'social distancing'.

We will see what the first week of 'working at home' does to the scale. Good luck everyone!

HEAVIEST weight: 175.4 in early 2013.
    Total Weight lost: 30 pounds
Time it took to lose: ~6 months
How long in maintenance: Since July 2018 -- but with some fluctuation outside of goal range.
Maintenance weight range: 142 - 148 (and not sure that's the right answer)

Average weight recorded from 2018 (12 months): 150.7
Average weight recorded from 2019 (12 months): 144.8

Average weight recorded from December 2019: 145.0
Average weight recorded from January 2020: 143.7
Average weight recorded from February 2020: 144.2

    Average weight Week of...
March 2 (back from Roatan): 144.0
    March 2 - 8...... 144.0
    March 9 - 15...... 146.1
    March 16 - 22......
    March 23 - 30......

Success of the week: I let myself treat myself to lots of bagels.

Struggle of the week: Too many bagels! Still in my maintenance range, but starting to trend a little up. That needs to stop this week.

    March 8th: 158.2 lb (trend 160.7)
    March 15th: 160.6 lb (trend 160.1)

Successes of the week: I've kept my weekly calorie average on point despite day to day swings. I've been able to continue working out at the fitness center at work despite social distancing, given that there are generally only one or two (or none, if I'm there in the middle of the night) other people there.

Struggles of the week: A bit more stress at work at the hospital with the coronavirus impact beginning to be felt more strongly. I'm trying to build in more meditation and relaxation at home to compensate.

    Have a great week, everyone!

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: last week I was in recovery from the 40km charity walk the Sunday before (was so sore and stiff for the first half of the week, and the mega blister on the bottom of my foot continued to be tender for even longer), so stuck to restorative yoga, focused on legs, hips & feet.

I finally got that DEXA scan. Still trying to get my head around the results and work out what the key things I should be working towards.
    • 26.9% body fat; goal 23% (for women my age the healthy range is 23-33%; 21-24% for fitness level).
    • Fat mass 17.6kg; goal 15kg (15-20kg is considered "excellent" for women, 5-15kg for professional athletes)
    • Fat Mass Index 6.14kg/m2; goal 5 (5-9 healthy range for women).
    • Muscle mass 48kg, which I am pretty happy with (40kg+ healthy for women). Relative Skeletal Muscle Index is 7.6kg/m2 (healthy normal 7-8, fitness level 8-9). Total lean mass/height ratio is 16.72 kg/m2 (15-18 for women is healthy). I guess it wouldn't hurt to improve on this, but I'm not sure how much additional muscle I should be working towards building (particularly considering I just do body weight exercises, at home, and have no interest in hitting the gym).
    • Bone Mineral Density is 1.272g/cm2 (which puts me in the top 3% of age-matched people), and Bone Mineral Contents is 2.7kg. Happy with that.

So aim to lose 2.6 kg of fat, and build about another 1kg of muscle (n.b. the day I had the scan my weight was up 1.8kg from the weight I'm trying to maintain, so I don't think I need to adjust my maintenance goal weight).

Successes/struggles: I’ve been weighing and logging my food very well. I have increased my exercise – swimming twice, gym twice and been out on my bike. My average steps were over 10,000 last week. My weight did drop to 50 kg exactly on Friday so there is a definite downward trend.
We have just been given advice that over 70s should stay home for the foreseeable future. (I’m in England) Luckily, I’m not quite 70 but many of my friends are. Having been at home for 6 weeks following my op I’m not looking forward to it. I’ve only just got back to a fairly normal lifestyle.
