On Keto in Quarantine

Hey everyone, hope you are staying safe and healthy. I am currently in isolation with my husband and toddler and have been on keto for one month (tomorrow to be exact). So far it’s been easy to keep keto since we are cooking all of our meals ourselves. However I think I’ve hit the wall — I have lost 7lbs in one month but last time I did keto (1.5 years ago) for same amount of time, I lost 10-12lbs. What can I do to get past this hump?! I am keeping under 20g of carbs and hitting my fat macros. I have been in ketosis every day since starting. Water, vitamins, ACV shots, MCT oil, etc. any tips?

Are you working out? I know gyms are practically all closed, but there are a lot of exercise programs included in a cable package (if you have that) or even YouTube. And this exercise definitely doesn’t have to be anything strenuous just something to get your heart rate up and you burning some calories! Also, I’m not sure which city you’re in but you could always go for a walk or light jog outside. Make it a family exercise routine! 😁 Good luck to you!!1

Being in ketosis - in and of itself - has absolutely *nothing* to do with losing weight, other than the initial drop which would have been mostly water retention.
Keto (or any other diet, for that matter) will only result in weight loss if eating in that manner also puts you in a caloric deficit. This means, simply put, that losing weight is all about the *amount* of calories you eat in a day, and not where those calories came from.
If you currently are not losing weight, it simply means you're consuming too many calories. Are you using a scale to measure your food? If not, I highly recommend getting one. It's the best 20 bucks you'll ever spend.
Here's a chart which pretty much covers all of the possibilities in why you're not losing weight to your expectations and what to do to correct it. ACV, MCT Oil, Vitamins, etc. do nothing to compensate for eating too much, I'm afraid.

I'm not understanding...how is 7 Lbs in a month hitting a wall...I don't think 7 Lbs in a month is any kind of hump to get over.5

Thanks for input. Definitely not overeating. I’m on a strict 1300 calories daily! I’d say 1-2 days of the past month I’ve gone over but usually keep it around 1250 calories.0 -

I lost 5 lbs first week (water weight I assume). Then the following 3 weeks lost 2.5 more. Goal is 1-2 lbs a week. The first time I tried keto a while back, I had lost much more weight and was less strict then. I wonder if I should up the carbs for a day to reset? I feel stuck!0 -

What exactly would you be resetting by upping carbs for a day?
Edited to add: You are not stuck. You are progressing normally. I would reevaluate my expectations if I were you.2 -

What does this mean, exactly? If you aren't weighing your food, you honestly have no idea how many calories you're consuming, strict or otherwise.1
