Calling all runners in snowy states....

Do any runners in snowy states run outside in the winter? I live in New Hampshire and one day while the kids are in school I have 45 minutes to spare. Long enough for me to run 3 miles but nor long enough for me to drive to the gym, run 3 miles, and pick up the kids.
Thanks for all of your input.

I'm not in a snowy state but I am up here in Canada where we get enough snow...
I do run outside in the snow (until it gets wayyy too cold... like -30 and -40 C)
So long as the sidewalks are clear enough and you add enough layers you will be fine. You will want to make sure you have a hat and mittens on so you don't get frostbite but otherwise it is just like in the summer.
I find you want to wear something that leaves you a little cool when you start out, you will warm up as you begin your run.
The biggest challenge is timing your cool down so that you don't freeze before you get into the house.
Running in the spring is my biggest problem as the streets are starting to unfreeze and they get really slushie and slippery , but when it is all frozen it isn't bad.
I am not sure what you want to know but if you have any specific questions just let me know0 -

That is pretty much what I am looking for. Just if people actually run in the colder weather and with snow on the ground. We don't have any side walks where I live so I would have to make the call when I see the road but if the kids have school it can't be that bad0 -
I'm a bit worried here since I've become really addicted to running since the last couple of months, and if I'm unlucky, it can be snow here in Sweden where I live, sometime next month. What I'm most worried about is the ice as one of the worst things I know is falling to the ground because of it. Does anyone know if there's some shoes that's better for running on snow and ice or something? Don't really want to get a gym membership just to go run on a treadmill.
