New to this and want to learn

My name is James. I have only attempted to diet on purpose once in my life other than now. I started the low carb and keto journey approximately 3 weeks ago at 253lbs. I am currently now 237. Seeing the loss makes me motivated to keep going. I know that most of that was water weight, but thats ok. I have been overweight with high blood pressure and high cholesterol for a long time and it is past due for me to do something about it. I know that if I did not change my current habits, as I get older, I will get bigger and bigger, plus I got tired of carrying around this big belly. I am still very new to this and have many questions. At the moment, I do not want to consume more than 30G of carbs a day. Ketosis would be nice but I think you have to get to 20 or under. I am also having trouble finding out what my macros (Fat, Carbs, and Protein are supposed to be as a daily target.

im currently doing keto aswell, i did it last year and was very successful at it but due to life changes i stopped, and gained about a third of the weight back, so here i am back again for round 2🙂 feel free to add me i do have a open food diary. this covid 19 pandemic is causing a few hiccups with my eating regime however it is what it is at this time. Oh im not sure if you already use the app but maybe carb manager is what could help you with a balance of your fat protein carb and daily calories n fibre needs? just a thought.

I have used Corometer which I liked best but had trouble with customizing restaurant meals and what their nutritional values were without the bun or without croutons etc. Carb manager is ok, but I don’t trust the accuracy. I am currently using the my fitness pal app to track micros and add foods. I do it for accountability while I learn what to eat.

I sure will try. I am learning what to eat all over again. It’s tough.
