A Question I’ve been pondering

I recent made my husband some Mexican cornbread that he’s been asking for. My question is, do I count the calories of each individual ingredient (meaning, milk, eggs, oil etc.) in the cornbread or does the 110 per serving listed on the label already include the ingredients necessary for making the cornbread. It doesn’t say “as prepared”, so I’m assuming, I’d need to list everything.

Can you share a picture of the instructions?

The cornbread I make (Simply Homemade, from a box) is almost 200 calories per serving for a small muffin.

Try going to the website of your product and research it that way. I don't think 110 calories sounds right.

I agree. I just checked and the box of corn meal I have is 110 calories per serving, so probably best to add all the other ingredients you used separately.

I’ve created a recipe for cornbread on MFP. Quick and easy!

Boxed cornbread is a mystery to me, we don’t do it in a ‘box’ in the UK!

If it doesn't say "as prepared" then it's only for what's in the box. So yes you need to log any ingredients you're adding separately.

Thanks all! It’s actually just a bag of cornmeal (like sugar & flour) by itself, so I’m thankful to know I did it the right way by including all the ingredients to my diary.
