What kind of program are you running? What gave you results in the past and what has changed?

Have you read through the (whole, long) recomp thread? Quite a few people have posted progress photos that sure look as if it worked for them, along with info about their programs and timelines.

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10177803/recomposition-maintaining-weight-while-losing-fat

Maybe that's where you saw the results, in which case posting that is irrelevant. But posting on that thread might narrow your audience to people who've engaged with the topic, at least.

Faster progress at first, then some slowdown, would be expected, in my understanding; along with the idea that if muscle gain is the goal, bulk/cut cycles may be a faster route than recomp (for a person who's willing to gain fat, which is often the hard part to accept). I recomped some, quite a few years back, by accident (long story), but did it at obese bodyweight so it didn't become evident until I later lost weight.

About 3 years of serious regular resistance training is how long it’s taken me. On proven established programmes, not ones I made up myself. Am I ripped? No. But I am a lot more muscular than when I set out.

Some people will progress quicker than me. Eg young males.

It also depends on how lean you are at the outset and what your goals are. If it’s to look like a bodybuilder then that will take most people years. If it’s to build a bit of muscle and look ‘toned’ then much more achievable in a shorter time frame if you are at a reasonable level of leanness when you start.

how many people of had successful body recomps? - Millions. It's not that special, just a normal response to training effectively. a.k.a. getting in shape.

how long did it take? - Not sure it has an end point for most people? My goals constantly evolve.

i am starting to not trust the process anymore .. - Why?

i saw great results and now i am not it’s super frustrating and i feel like i will never get there - Quicker progress in response to a new stimulus is totally normal and expected. Where are you now? Where is "there"?

You haven't actually given any meaningful information about you, your goals or your training. Are you looking for advice or just expressing frustration that changing body composition takes time (unless you are young, male and new to training....).
