@kecward78 - I was interested in this too as was one of my neighbours I was talking across to yesterday. Boxing day I started with a 24 hour "bug", on comparing notes we both had a very high temperature, but felt tremdesly freezing cold, extremely fatigued & had no desire to eat whatsoever (which is not me!!). After 24 hours started to feel a bit better. Both of us wonder if we had contracted a mild version of the virus!! Who knows?

Back in late December (Christmas, actually) I got suddenly sick out of nowhere. Thought it was the beginning of a sinus infection (which I never had until I started working at that place and had 5 in one year). Went away and suddenly had pneumonia (first tested for the flu but it came back negative). Monday woke up face sore (like sinus infection) and by Thursday they were debating whether to hospitalize me with pneumonia. They gave me 3 meds and sent me home on strict quarantine for 4 days. Meds helped and by New Years, I was back up and functional. Took until mid-January until my lungs started feeling better, but that's just the case with that severe of pneumonia. Said it could be 6 weeks or 6 months to feel 100% again, glad it was on the faster end. I've been wondering (as I heard the reports of November cases in China) if I had a very early strain of it.

@dawnbgethealthy - Maybe it's the weather, lol. I'm also in S.E. BC and even though I'm doing the same as always suddenly I seem to be going up a lb. a day.

    Thanks : - )
Nice to see someone else in the SE B.C. area : - )
For sure those 2 rainy days when I have so much to do in the yard derailed me. It definitely felt like water retention. Have to squish that out somehow lol.

@kecward78 I have read a couple of different articles that said basically the same thing although one said the first case was diagnosed in Wuhan on November 17 and the second article said mid-October. My husband was sure he had “flu” and was tested but that was negative. At that point we hadn’t heard anything about COVID. We wonder if he had it. He felt bad enough that he used his nebulizer early without me nagging him about it.

Amazing how taste changes when you avoid that garbage. Also bloated and my shorts are tight when they were loose a couple of days ago.

@kecward78 We have the same issue. My DH went to India for 2 weeks in late Nov/Early Dec. Got sick (always does) with a fever, aches, slight cough. Took some antibiotics the doc gave him to take with him. He came home and proceeded to have the dry cough for about 3 weeks. Same deal with the guy that he traveled with. I am having him go get the Cellex antibody test next week as we are curious. I have doctor friends that said they saw Covid symptoms circulating in fall that tested negative for Influenza. My son lives in NYC. We are pretty sure he had it in March. Never got tested since he was not having major breathing issues but felt crappy for about 5 days. He is coming home in a few weeks and I have an appt for him to get the antibody test.

It sounds like your family had the same as us. It was that dry, persistent cough that was the worst. Just couldn't shake it and kept us up half the night with little rest. Maybe we were both starting to get over it when I finally took my mom to her doctor... and that's why the antibiotics were enough to finish it off. I'm just sad to see so many losing their lives over something that could have been handled better by our politicians, if they had been more aggressive and helped out all of us little guys.

I really do think that many of us had an early version of this thing. It sounds like you had one of the worst experiences, but I'm really happy you were able to get past it. It did feel like a sinus infection (with sinus pressure) and a low grade cold, but for us, the persistent cough was the worst.

Sounds like you're in the same boat as so many of us. For those of us that are older, trying to lose weight and/or are immunocompromised, I'm surprised that we have come through this as well as we have. Many of us fall under one or more of these *worst case scenarios* where we would be most at risk. I'm just really concerned since the public pressure is on for everyone to *get back out there*, even if it is still, obviously, not safe.

@bearly63 -interesting ! I would be intersted to know the results of the antibody test when you have them. In the UK we don't have the facility to have the antibody test yet.

5/09- 149.4 YAY! I reached goal! OMG. I almost can't believe it. I even had chinese carry out last night, but hiked a good 5 miles. WOW! Just wow. Will FP adjust my calories to maintenance automatically or do I need to go change something? I'm going to complete this challenge because this is a lifestyle change and I'm pretty sure I'll need to keep logging to stay on track and continue to make good choices. Keep going everyone. It is worth it. The biggest thing I've learned is if you feel starved change what you're eating, for me it is making sure I get enough protein.

    Congratulations! That's brilliant!
