High stress day. Most of them are these days. No workout. Diet not good quality but managed to stay under calories. I really enjoyed the feeling of losses last round, Will be working majority of days this round which usually makes it easier to control calories but harder to work out, so we’ll see. Yoga is really helping me with my shoulder mobility. I used to have to stretch a while before I could raise my right arm overhead and now most of the time I can do it without stretching! Feel like my pants are a little looser.
05/08: 237.4.
I find it weird how I can go for several days without a 0.1 pound change in either direction. Jazzercise 20 min. Yoga 35 min. Today is my 15th day of logging, which may be an all time personal record LOL.
05/09: 237.4.
I’ve been eating all the calories MFP allots me including for exercise. I know what it is allowing for exercise is in no way accurate, how could it be. As much as I am enjoying those extra calories it’s not allowing the scale to budge, sadly. Went a little crazy today eating takeout pizza and eating my feelings. Will probably have a gain tomorrow but I’ll be back on the horse.

Looking forward:
I'm just too danged cussed to let this thing knock me back, and ruin all the effort I have put in to get here. I am stepping up my routine, and taking control. Sheltering in place means I can fully concentrate on getting in my exercise, and preparing healthy food.
- May: focus on maintaining and increasing my progress
- 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals
Never give up! Never give in!
Back Story:2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅2020
2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ So far, so good.
That's a WIN in my book!
Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

05/07 122.6 Sweet, lost another .2! Yesterday was good food wise. I made carnitas in the pressure cooker last night for dinner and turned them into bowls with brown rice, black beans, and mango salsa. They were yummy and will be dinner tonight too! Had another good walk this morning, around 3.5 miles. Last night was fun and I had a random sober dance party for like 45 minutes because my husband was listening to throw back pop songs covered by heavy metal singers. So, I couldn’t help but dance while he continued to be on the computer and enjoy his beverages. Have a good day everyone 😊.
05/08 123.2 Water weight fluctuations are fun, this is probably due to my salty dinner last night but man was that Annie’s Mac and Cheese worth it. I had a craving and indulged but I did manage to stay within calories. I also savored every bite! So, it’s all good. I even squeezed in an impromptu cardio session before dinner last night! Just got back from our morning walk and it was accidentally extra long at 5.5 miles. I’ll take it 😊.
05/09 123.2 I’ll take the steadiness at least. Maybe I’ll drop tomorrow. Who knows. Bodies are so weird when it comes to weight loss. Today was decent with food but kind of a hard to track my dinner. I made myself an awesome bowl of oatmeal for my breakfast/lunch @ 11 because I intermittent fast. Then, for dinner I made buffalo chicken cutlets which were hard to calculate. I probably ate about 5 oz of chicken with a ¼ cup bread crumbs made from Ezekiel bread (the only stuff I had to make crumbs with) and a couple of tbs worth of oil. There were also some hand made fries cooked in the air fryer. So, I did the best I could with my estimates and I guess that’s all you can do. I’m pretty sleepy today and was happy that I attended a virtual christening for my baby cousin because it gave me an opportunity to see some family via Webex and lay in bed for a couple hours 😊. It’s been a solid day. Have a good night everyone!

Starting weight is 238.6. Lost 3.4 pounds last round.
Goals worked well last round, so I will continue them for one more: Walk at least 20 minutes every day, log food, avoid sugar and alcohol and the usual empty calories, take my meds every day on schedule, and drink my water. With those goals, my target weight for this cycle is 236.
05/07 Weight 238.8; Goals - walk: yes, 90 minutes; food: yes, 500 calories under; empty calories: 200, could have done better; med: yes; water: yes, 8.
05/08 Weight 238.4; Goals- walk: yes, 65 minutes;food: yes, 500 calories under; empty calories 250 too many; meds: yes; water: yes, 8. Stayed within my calories, but dinner was mediocre pizza from a local restaurant. Really disappointing, and I physically feel bloated and lousy. It's going to be below freezing tonight, so my morning walk may or may not take place tomorrow. Let's see how the weight and blood sugar look in the morning.
05/09 Weight 236.6; I am highly suspicious that this is a scale prank, we'll find out tomorrow. But even if it is tease it is very nice to see! Blood sugar was excellent (for me) this morning, 86. Goals - walk: yes, 90 minutes; log food: yes, 500 under; empty calories: FAIL. Too many, I am getting sloppy on this again; meds: yes; water: yes, 10 so far.

70 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had back surgery. Then I had hip surgery March 10th. Recovery is slow. Sure do want to be back walking!
The Shelter in Place has everyone freaked. We need to remain calm and respectful of each other.

5/09- 149.4 YAY! I reached goal! OMG. I almost can't believe it. I even had chinese carry out last night, but hiked a good 5 miles. WOW! Just wow. Will FP adjust my calories to maintenance automatically or do I need to go change something? I'm going to complete this challenge because this is a lifestyle change and I'm pretty sure I'll need to keep logging to stay on track and continue to make good choices. Keep going everyone. It is worth it. The biggest thing I've learned is if you feel starved change what you're eating, for me it is making sure I get enough protein.
Congratulations! That's brilliant!4 -
CamandJarvis wrote: »@matratazola It is an odd thing with moving to find balance. The thing that's really getting to me, I think, is that I can find balance right now (5 weeks after move), but its going to change again once we stop working remote and I start commuting to work (which I have not yet done, so that'll be an adjustment period all on its own). What I need to start doing is to carve out some time to plan and make lunches for "work" so when I do start commuting, I've already figured out a system. Its too easy right now to finish my task, walk to the kitchen and find something to eat, then go back to my computer. Not going to work that way in the coming weeks! The closest place to grab food from work (that I've found using maps), is about a 15-20 minute drive. We have a 30 minute lunch Plus, that's "fast food" so not at all healthy. I have a feeling my salad game is about to be strong since they're fairly easy to put together when short on time
Oh wow I hadn't though of that, crossing country for a new job and starting it under these circumstances must have been very strange! For lunches I normally have a stock of frozen choices, I cook veggies and various forms of rice or pulses which I freeze in individual baby pots, then I mix and match pots to bring to the office where we have a microwave and small kitchen. For the moment I don't know when we'll open the office, and as an office manager without an office to manage I'm a little in limbo land here We have an staff meeting online tomorrow to discuss our options.5 -

Goals
Getting back on track, logging consistently and staying withing MFP planned cal intake
05/07 157.6 (+7.2) 12.318 steps, 6km walk. I used my lowest weight from a few rounds ago although I’ve been weighing every couple of days since. My weight has been up and down since lockdown but definitely always a little bit more up. Asides from lockdown which is such a big problem, I’ve still also got this hip pain for which I was supposed to go for a scan before lockdown. Now I can walk (not too much) and I can cycle. Life won’t realistically get back to normal for months and I now realise how much I counted on being active and exercise as a weight loss (and sanity) tool. I’m still adapting to the new situation. Food is also an issue as prices have gone up, as a one income household I already found it a squeeze to buy all veggies and fresh food, now it’s really a problem. It’ll take time to get used to this but I’m sure we’ll all get there eventually
05/08 157.6 (-0.0) 10296 steps, 4km walk. Not surprised that I didn’t loose anything yesterday. I was within calories but only with the added walk benefit, I ate too much at lunch time and thinking of fasting for the rest of the day but didn’t make it. But this time I planned all todays meals in advance, including snacks, now I just have to stick with it. I’ll try and get a bike ride done today, I’m soooo tired! My daughter hasn’t slept well since the beginning of lockdown… she says she’s scared of the story of the bogeyman which she’s just discovered, I think it’s more this weird situation that’s coming out, she’s 11. I’ve been going on 4-5hrs of sleep for the last 2 months, feels like having a new born again lol
05/09 157.0 (-0.6) no steps, I didn’t even put on my garmin, just exchausted lol But happy to see at least a little loss even though I didn’t do any exercise, tiredness got the best of me yesterday and I didn’t do anything. Next week my daughter will stay at her fathers for a few days and I’ll be able to catch up on some much-needed sleep. Today I don’t have that much planned, maybe a bike ride or a walk, I have to plan my daily meals yet this morning and do some cleaning. Tomorrow my father is coming over for a Sunday Roast for the 1st time since lockdown, and then we’ll take some distance again as my daughter will be going back to school 2 days a week and we don’t want to take any risks. Ok, so it's just past 7am here, going to be my day started by putting on my step tracker and doing some steps with a "walk at home" on YouTube Hope you all have a good day !
05/10 157.0 (0.0) 13.551 steps, 9km walk. Yesterday was a good day, even without any weight loss. It was a lovely day and I went for a long walk in the afternoon. My daughter has started her horse riding lessons again and the stables are outside of town in a lovely area with villages, parks, lakes and forests. It was so nice to get out of the city for a walk, something we haven’t been able to do for 2 months. Today the weather is supposed to turn rainy with a high wind warning, but I’m hoping it’ll happen late enough in the afternoon that I can go for a quick bike ride beforehand. Shops are re-opening this week, I'm wondering if I can take my daughter clothes shopping, she's gone through a growth spurt and asides from some extra warm winter leggings and pullovers which we bought in February nothing fits. It's going to be interesting that's one thing for sure!

Day/Weight/Comment
05/07 134.4 – 10.88 miles walked yesterday. I need to get a grip back on my eating, last couple of days I've been out of control again. Gonna try to get back on today especially because this bank holiday weekend I know I will be more relaxed with VE celebrations albeit at home just me & my DH together, weather permitting in the garden.
05/08 DNW – totally forgot!! When I remembered I was dressed and had eaten breakfast !! 9.63 miles walked yesterday, stayed within calories until clap for NHS & key workers on the doorstep turned into an impromptu street party till 10.45 pm; a few bevies were downed! Have a good VE day, enjoy any celebrations that you have planned in the safety of your own homes/gardens.
05/09 136.6 – well that's the VE day celebration results and do you know what I don't regret it, we got together as a street to celebrate albeit still maintaining social distancing, hung out the flags, some of us dressed up, had afternoon tea and continued through the afternoon into the night, sharing food, drinks, chatting & laughing, had a quiz and ended up with dancing. A brilliant way to bring the community together. I did manage to get a walk in during the morning 7.97 miles. Today back on it!!
05/10 136.6 – 9.31 miles walked yesterday, a really good day foodwise, 390 calories in credit, all macros in green. Was hoping for a slight drop, but we all know loses take much longer than gains, so patience, consistency and determination will win!!

I'm going to try this again...Thank you all for still being here, was really excited to see this challenge still going from when I used it over 2 years ago. I didn't achieve much last round...except for starting the habit of daily accountability. This round I'm going to work more on my food habits, I need to figure out a way to keep shoving bad snacks in my face in the late afternoon and later evening.

SW - 182.2-April 2020
GW-140-Made it to 142 once before...goal is to get there again before I turn 50
Day/Weight/Comment
05/07: 182.2 - basically back where I started at the beginning of last round. We've been filling in our Family calendar with national and international celebration days since there are not band rehearsals, sports, volunteer groups happening right now...and yesterday was "No Diet Day" so my boys requested all the fried food and poutine....we haven't had poutine in over 2 months, it's usually only an eat out treat for us, but my "homemade" version was SOOOOO good....
05/08: 179.2 - flushed a lot of that end of cycle hormone bloat yesterday, I could almost feel it leaving thought the day. Food choices were great!! Had extra salad instead of the noodles I made for everyone else as a side at dinner last night. Found out yesterday that the August gift show I usually work on for my main freelance clients has officially been cancelled for this year. It's one of my main gigs and at this point I'm usually putting together planograms and sample orders for it....I'm still hopeful that as our province begins to re-open more that they'll still be needing me to work in their showrooms. I'm really missing my creative work life right now
05/09: 179.0 - Good day yesterday great hike with the dog in the morning, kind of boring day but ended with an awesome virtual chat with one of my housemates from university. We've been doing zoom coctail parties every couple of weeks since isolation started, but tonight only she and I could make it, we were going to cancel but so glad we had a chance to connect one on one. We got 2 inches of snow last night...so I'm not very motivated to do our regular morning hike today, maybe I'll get one of the boys to pick up the kettlebells with me this afternoon.
05/10: 177.8 - Unexpected but kind of makes sense...I usually have a big drop the first few days of starting or re-starting a significant change in my eating habits. I think what I was doing last week was blocked by my raging peri-menopausal hormones. Now that is cleared for this cycle my body is self adjusting. Had a good food day and did end up going for a long walk with the dog but no hike in the snow. Looking forward to the Mother's Day Brunch my hubs is picking up from one of our local favourites. We haven't eaten anything not prepared at home since March.
