So i started loosing weight around January 23rd and till March 28th i lost at a pretty decent rate but the whole month of April i didn’t loose any weight even while eating at maintenance but the whole month of April i was not active at all which could’ve cause me to not loose weight but last week i cut down my calories a little and started working out 35 - 40 mins a day and after 5 days i noticed i lost 2 pounds so i thought its working but than today i check my weight again and i gained back those 2 pounds. Like what’s going on? This is all very frustrating and it’s hard to be motivated when the results stop like this. I am confused as to why i lost those 2 pounds and it came right back? What am i doing wrong? I eat right and workout and i am only 20 years old.

If you're eating at maintenance, you shouldn't expect to lose weight. That's the entire point.

Your weight is always going to be fluctuating up and down, even when you're doing everything right. What you want to pay attention to is the long term trend, not the day-to-day.

Are you currently eating to hit a calorie goal that puts you at a deficit? If so, how long have you been doing that?

Weight loss isn't linear. You can do a progam one week and lose weight and do EXACTLY the same thing the next week and gain back a pound. There are too many variables to the body to have it respond exactly the way it should mathematically. But if you're CONSISTENT for a long period of time, as long as you're in a calorie deficit, the weight should keep reducing.

first - you don't lose weight while eating at maintenance, maintenance is maintenance.
second - of course the weight loss stopped if you weren't active, what are you eating?
third - what's going on? do you have your menstrual cycle, are you eating proper foods, too much salt?

I meant to say *eating at calorie defecit on my paragraph and tbh when i started loosing weight my menstrual cycle stopped and I’d say i am active now and eat like 1,300 calories a day while working out for 35 mins so i am confused at what’s wrong because i am doing what’s possible

Things that have variable weight in your body include:

    Fat
    Water
    Glycogen
    Undigested food
    Poop
    Muscle
    Lactic acid

    Things that your scale weighs:

    All of them

Lose fat, but gain water and waste? Scale goes up. Gain fat, but lose extra water? Scale goes down. Or doesn't move.

Your body is a mass of things which fluctuate wildly. You can never just weigh fat. Your scale will almost never show a linear movement.

True but it gets concerning if the scale doesn’t change your weight for weeks and goes down for it to go back up again but I’ll def be keeping that in mind !! Any other weight to check fat loss without a weight machine ?

So you lost weight in January, February, and March eating the same calorie goal each day and then didn't lose any weight in April? What is your calorie goal and how did you pick it? Also, if I'm understanding correctly you very recently started working out?

Yes i lost weight all those 3 months i lost like 16 pounds those months and then came April where i had to stay home everyday because of quarantine so i stopped being active like i use to be before with college and work so i didn’t loose any weight in April. Beginning of may i realized something is off so i changed my activity level to not active and this app gave me a goal of eating 1,200 calories a day to loose 2 pounds a week so i eat around 1,350 calories and workout everyday for 35 - 40 mins and at first i saw a change within the first 5 days and now i see those 2 pounds are back 😂

It sounds like you lost really rapidly for three months. 2 pounds a week is a very aggressive weight loss goal. What is your current weight and how much do you want to lose?

Two pounds a week is too aggressive for your current weight.

You'll want to choose a reasonable rate of loss, consistently hit that calorie goal, and eat back at least a portion of your exercise calories. If you haven't lost weight for a full month, another thing to consider is the accuracy of your logging. I can't see your diary, but if you open it we may be able to help you troubleshoot there as well.
