Goal 60kg
Starting weight Day 7 Round 111 - 66.3kg
Ending weight Round 113– 63.4kg
Goal weight for the end of this round - 62.9kg
Day/Weight/Comment
05/17 - 63.4kg, no change from the last 2 days; it's expected that things would slow down a bit at this point.
05/18 - 63.1kg, nice to see this drop, it's getting harder to keep up with the 16,000 steps a day
05/19 - 62.9kg, already to goal, so I'm expecting a holding pattern here for a few days.
05/20 - 63.0kg, a small bounce which is very appropriate at this stage, still early in this round and I'm on track.

Goal: lose 1 lb and keep it off. Eat more fiber : 1,300 calories, 40 Carbs, 35 Net Carbs and 10,000 steps a day but it’s ok to take a break.

Day/Weight/Comment
05/ 17 133.8 – 9.76 miles walked yesterday. I guess that's the extra sodium in the mussels we had for lunch, 270 calories in credit, 4 carbs over.
05/18 133.8 – 8.74 miles walked yesterday. 271 calories in credit, all macros in green.
05/19 133.8 – 8.34 miles walked yesterday. 517 calories in credit, all macros in green. Had my first meet up with a friend in the park for exercise and then a picnic (all at social distancing! & allowed now) since the lock down, it was such a lovely few hours, so refreshing!
05/20 135 – 10.28 miles walked yesterday. Such a bad day food wise, not even disclosing how many calories or other macros over - ughh!! why do I do it? New day today; need to get a wriggle on!!

Looking forward:
I'm just too danged cussed to let this thing knock me back, and ruin all the effort I have put in to get here. I am stepping up my routine, and taking control. Sheltering in place means I can fully concentrate on getting in my exercise, and preparing healthy food.
- May: focus on maintaining and increasing my progress
- 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals
Never give up! Never give in!
Back Story:2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅2020
2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ So far, so good.
That's a WIN in my book!
Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Had homemade chicken and shrimp lo mein last night filled with veggies. Very good, enough to get a second small plate (very small portion for the first plate). Tomorrow BF and I will wake up very early and go pick up the kids so we can be back by Friday night. Will not be weighing in or posting. This weekend will also be interesting with checking in since the kids will command my attention before I do this work thing and we must keep our distance. Hoping I can still weigh in and update sometime as the day goes on.

Previous Day's Comments05/17 - Not exactly sure what is happening. I skipped dinner (super late big lunch) on Saturday night and I almost skipped dinner last night but instead forced myself to have a small portion of salad, steamed asparagus, and a grilled chicken leg. Went kayaking but it was a slow easy one so no soreness or anything. Just put in my food for Sunday and with exercise and all, I'm 1300 calories under (982 of them being from exercise). I know I'm dehydrated but I've been pushing water since last night and already chugged some this morning after weighing in. Oh well. Its still the beginning of the round so maybe I can fix this up and drop that number a bit.
Edit: Just found out I'm likely to return to work for normal hours next week. The kids come here this Friday. So now I don't get to spend time with them as much and I'll probably miss the mini-vacation trip we planned to take them to see the gulf coast next Thurs-Fri before the weekend stupidity arrives (BF and I have never been, either and he took that time off for this). Its quarantine-style as its only 5hrs away and camping, but I don't know when we'll get to do that again, especially with fam starting her new job June 1st as well... I don't have vacation days until October. I'm super sad now. I don't mind returning to work, but it had to happen the weekend the kids arrive and they leave back to their moms for school in August so no chance of taking vacation with them this year.
05/18 - Figured I'd be up this time from a late dinner that was a bit heavy. Portioned well, it seems. Trying to prep for next week. BF is irritated that I'm going in and told me if I don't take every precaution, I'm not allowed back to the house. I get it, 2 kids that are more likely to die than to survive if they catch it live here and I already forewarned my boss that I'm not taking any risk whatsoever given the circumstance... But it is super scary. 1800 new cases and 33 new deaths in one day this past Saturday-- largest single day jump is something that should be taken seriously, yet they're still opening things up even more come Friday. I'm super stressed and I know that's going to cause issues with my health and weight. Kids are so excited to see me (and I'm just as excited to see them) but now I have to keep my distance which hurts my heart. All this stems from the fact that my work had 0 cases throughout this whole ordeal and have had 2 in less than a week once they announced things are opening up. If I am exposed, I'm screwed because I have nowhere else to go besides live in my car or build up credit card debt and expose hotel workers... Sorry for the panic rant, I'm just really scared for those kids. I will be carrying lysol and hand sanitizer every place in hopes it'll help. Masks are part of our mandatory work PPE now (along with long sleeve cotton shirts, jeans, steel toed boots, hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, and gloves -- we're pretty well covered). Side note: I'll probably see a drop in weight simply from the heat

Round 100 SW 245
Round 112 SW 242 (4/27/20)
Round 113 SW 238.6
Round 114 SW 235.2
Goals: walk at least 20 minutes every day and a total of 1 million steps by July 31, log food, minimize empty calories, take my meds every day on schedule, and drink my water. With those goals, my target weight for this cycle is 232.
05/17 Not gonna lie, yesterday (last day of round 113) I indulged myself in old habits of overeating. It was ugly. It as a not-at-all-subtle reminder to me why this FatBoy cannot take cheat days too often - it's like giving a frat boy keys to a Ferrari and expecting him to drive the speed limit. Anyway, today was a new day, new round, new resolve! Hopefully I won't be paying for yesterday for too long, but it is what I made it. Today's morning weight: 235.2, blood sugar 82; today's walk: 60 minutes, 3 miles; log food: yes, under goal calories by 300; empty calories: still too many; meds: yes; water: 8 and counting. Have a great week, all! Be safe, be smart.
05/18 Weight: 234.6. Goals met. 300 calories to spare. Will post walking totals in the morning.
05/19 Weight 234.4, yesterday's steps 16,374. Will try to get my steps in again despite the rainy weather. Walking around in circles in the conference room makes me feel silly, but at least it keeps me from feeling wet.
05/20 Weight 234.4, yesterday's steps 14,247 (total 30,621 of 1 million.) Yesterday's goals met, 200 calories under.

Started MFP 12/27/19: 186.0 (Heaviest weight ever)
12/27/19 to end of Round 113: -10.6 pounds
I have two goals right now and not thinking any further than these two: 1) Get back to my lowest weight on MFP from 3/8, 173.2; and 2) Hit the elusive 160s.
Round 114 Goals: Keep doing what I did well last round (calories, exercise, IF) and improve on what I didn't do well (water, vegies/fruit). Keep in mind that daily ups and downs on the scale is perfectly normal.

05/17 - 175.4
05/18 - 175.3
05/19 - 175.3
05/20 - 175.1 I'm getting up around 6a every morning and rowing. If I exercise in the morning, it makes me want to stay on track with everything else the rest of the day. Also, any other exercise I do the rest of the day is because I want to not because I have to, which is nice.

@CamandJarvis My guess is that the drastic jump in numbers is at least partially due to increased testing. Wipes have become our friend and a washcloth and bucket of beach water greet ALL GROCERIES before they enter this house. My husband carries a baggie with wipes whenever he goes out and if they are drying out, he puts a little bleach solution in to rehydrate them. I have said that one day we plan to travel again but it will be awhile and we will take extra things with us.5

Salt. Popcorn. Cheese and crackers. I don’t know why. Stress? Gotta stop and this is the round. Yesterday we planted our UU Sacred Grounds native pollinator gardens and I was interviewed on camera about the fundraising. Who was that fat woman ? Egad! I guess that’s the wake up call to stop going easy on myself. Please kick my butt if I try to make excuses. My (over)weight has been pretty constant for 3 months now, so if I cut back on calories and get with my old walking program, I should have an encouraging loss this round. Maybe I won’t feel so down then either. Thanks for all the hugs, but I think what I need now is a kick in the butt.

Yesterday was good and I felt more in control even with all-day rain. It’s still been pouring all morning, but should clear up this afternoon. I’m thinking of going to a nursery — shouldn’t be too many people in the rain! But I have to finish launching my new venture (teaching creative writing classes online), so maybe by the time I finish the rain will cut back to drizzle. DH wants chicken pot pie for dinner, so I had a light breakfast and will have salad for lunch. My plan is no no-no’s but work-arounds for the higher calories meals. Things are stressful and restricted enough at the moment without adding to the pressure. And I have a garden bed to enlarge and want to put in a new herb garden, so there’s some calorie burn if the ground isn’t too wet. I hope everyone is well and staying safe.
5/19 - 182.2
Another wet morning, but I’m off to brave the grocery store if I can get Mike the cat off my lap. I think he’s telling me about his morning chat with his new friend. 🐰
5/20 - 182.4
Ugh — we had leftover chicken pot pie last night and I ate too much. Calories weren’t bad but I still feel stuffed. Plan for today is much lighter, and it’s stopped raining so I’m off to play in the dirt. Had breakfast with a diverse group of friends — DH, Mike the cat, the bunny rabbit, robins, sparrows, red-winged blackbirds, starlings, finches (house and gold), and a chipmunk that peeked in the sliding door at us. 🐰🌷🥣🥗🥑🍊🌸🐿

Really getting frustrated with that number not going down even the tiniest bit! I’ve been spot on with my calories and exercise.8 -
quiltingjaine wrote: »@CamandJarvis My guess is that the drastic jump in numbers is at least partially due to increased testing. Wipes have become our friend and a washcloth and bucket of beach water greet ALL GROCERIES before they enter this house. My husband carries a baggie with wipes whenever he goes out and if they are drying out, he puts a little bleach solution in to rehydrate them. I have said that one day we plan to travel again but it will be awhile and we will take extra things with us.
Thank you. I guess it is hard for me to wrap my mind around being asked to go in to work when we are still "working remote" for the foreseeable future, especially with the high risk. The testing number increases do make sense, but still unnerving for me, especially being in a very small town thus untouched by this virus and going to a big city with many many cases and deaths. I guess being the "outsider"*** of the house, I feel extra concern as far as potentially bringing harm to someone else's child(ren). BF and their mom have trusted me to care for them and it feels like more pressure than I imagine I'd feel with my own children, had I any. I've cared for these kids for a couple years, but I've never had to really concern myself with their health until now and it is a whole different beast to take on! SHOUT OUT TO ALL MOMS AND DADS OUT THERE DOING AMAZING THINGS AND KEEPING IT TOGETHER.
***BF and I aren't legally married and no plans to (more along the lines of common-law, but not entirely fitting that, either). Not really an outsider, but still a bit of one.
I was planning to venture out today to get a travel size of hand sanitizer (or 2, I like to lose things) to carry while at work, lysol for my car, and more bleach for the house in preparation of this. I didn't think of the baggie of wipes which I might borrow (:5 -

05/16 …..204.3….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
05/17 …..204.3 ….. I worked hard yesterday with the continuation of the barn cleaning project. Tedious along with some heavy lifting but not as much walking or steps, lots of standing in place sorting. I was hoping for even a smidgen of a drop on the scale, but patience usually pays off. Today I will plan my meals carefully. I’ve got to stay focused.
05/18 …..204.2 ….. Like Molasses but at least it is s..l..o..w..l..y dripping in the right direction. Today I have a lot on my agenda on this cold and rainy day. Flood warnings here. At least the newly planted flowers are happy! Today my dinner will be what I prep cooked yesterday. My meals will go well and I will stay busy. I will continue to dread the nighttime urge to binge when I get in bed in front of the TV. That has been going well so lets hope my strength continues. I want to see some greater progress on that scale! Everyone is doing so well! Let’s keep it up!
05/19 …..204.6 ….. Technically if only CICO mattered, I would have lost weight. I was under calorie goal by about 1000 (when factoring in my exercise). I had lots of movement and burn. My carbs were just over 100 including lots of healthy veggies. My water was a little improved. I slept in the 3 hour range (usually I am somewhere in the 4 hour range) but I woke up untired and refreshed. However, I do long for a 6 hour sleep night which I only get 2 or 3 times per year. I have a lot of hard work on my agenda. Spring cleaning a cabin from ceiling to floor. An un-glorified job for which I am not getting paid due to the restrictions on travel at this time. However, that makes it a good time to start all the deeper cleaning. I plan on keeping my diet on point and sticking to the healthy stuff today. I just gotta watch those carbs too!
05/20 …..204.3 ….. A bit of the bloat dropped off the scale so I am happy today. Also, perfect weather here. What a gorgeous day! I have lots of very hard work to do again today but I am up for the task. I am feeling so good right now-inspired by so much of what I am reading on this challenge and I am picturing that little chipmunk at @SheilaBoneham ‘s house after seeing the rabbit yesterday. What a beautiful day we have been gifted with. I hope everyone will enjoy all their blessings wherever they are!

05/17 120.6 Today was good, we did some yard work and ate well. Although, I definitely didn’t feel completely satisfied with my food, so I definitely want to work on that tomorrow. It tasted decent but I didn’t feel super full from it. I had lentils, beets, and a cheese plate type thing for breakfast/lunch. It was a strange combination of foods but it tasted good. Then for dinner I had a bean based pasta along with spaghetti squash, meatballs, and sauce with a sprinkle of romano cheese on top. It just kind of fell flat leaving me wanting more of something. I’m hoping tomorrow will be better in that regard!
05/18 119.4 I’m starting to wonder if my scale is right because I’ve had some really good drops over the past few days. I see the difference in my belly area, but it just seems crazy because I haven’t seen that number in years. I hope I can keep it off! This morning I went for a 6 mile walk and then did some push-ups and lunges in our yard. I’m hoping to get some jump roping in later today for some cardio because the walking doesn’t raise my heart rate that much. Not sure what’s on the agenda today for food but I’m thinking about some sort of toast and peanut butter for my first meal. I hope everyone had a good weekend!
05/19 121.0 I’m pretty sure my scale got moved in the bathroom and it’s on a level surface finally. I’m now at a weight that makes more sense because that was a big drop over the course of three days for me. I’m cool with it because I have been making really good decisions food and activity wise. I took a 6 mile walk this morning and have plans to jump rope again today. I love the cardio workout I get from jump roping and it’s safer/easier than running around the neighborhood with the whole mask situation. Plus, I get to brush up on my jump roping skills. I also ordered a weighted rope to turn up the workout a notch. That arrives at the end of the week and I’m very excited for it!
It sounds really weird but I’m so excited for my breakfast/lunch today because I have been craving cottage cheese for some reason and we were finally able to get some last night in a food delivery. So, I’m looking forward to the cottage cheese topped with pineapple and frozen wild blueberries. Tonight we are having American Chop Suey left overs and I’m pumped I have a night where I’m not creating dishes to clean after dinner.
One last ramble… My husband just went to get a contactless pick up order from Total Wine, so we will have some beverages to enjoy this weekend. I don’t think I’ve had anything to drink since March, so this will be fun. 😊
05/20 121.0 Went for another awesome walk this morning. My husband joined me for 3ish miles of it and then I continued another 3 miles on my own. Skipping the jump rope today to give my body a break. I might work in some push ups in a bit though. Food was good yesterday and so far so go today. I plan on making a turkey breast in the pressure cooker tonight for dinner. On our walk, we walked by turkeys which made my husband crave turkey. LOL! Luckily I happen to have turkey in the freezer and we have some potatoes, carrot and parsnips to use too! So, it’ll be perfect! I even have a rogue box of turkey gravy to add to the pot for added flavor. Have a good day everyone! Also a sidenote: super excited for the gorgeous weather coming to Massachusetts soon!

05/21 - 62.7kg, great! Yesterday was a fluke which happens now and then. Sticking to the plan which works :-)

@kblanc14 I know it's too late for tonight's dinner, but here's the best turkey breast recipe.. The turkey comes out so moist and it's all about the gravy - so good! If the link doesn't work, you can search Youtube for How to Make Turkey Breast en Cocotte - America's Test Kitchen.

That's funny re your husband wanting turkey after seeing wild turkeys. We have wild turkey come thru our land all the time and as many as 14 under our bird feeder at one time. I have to say I've never thought "let's have turkey tonight" when seeing them. I pretend all the creatures that come thru are my pets, except the bear that kept knocking down and breaking our bird feeder until we realized we needed to take it down April thru October.
I'm about 1.5 hours from Mass in southern Maine. We are going to have amazing weather too. Unbelievably warm. They've opened some beaches to residents but I'm not quite ready to head out unless really early (maybe see the sunrise) before others get there since I have a feeling there won't be a lot of social distancing going on or masks. I'll ride by one day to see, hopefully I'm wrong.5 -

I didn't think of the baggie of wipes which I might borrow (:
@CamandJarvis I am so sorry you're going thru this when just a few months ago you were so excited about your new state and new job. This virus is difficult in normal circumstances and you have a lot of added stress to say the least. It's just terrible that you can't continue to work remotely. I hope everything goes okay over the next weeks/months - I'm sure they will as it seems you and your BF are being extra cautious for the kids and also for yourselves. Keep us posted on how you are doing.5
