    The Seventh Seal (1957)

This movie has been on my Google Play wishlist for months as I'd seen it referenced as a "must see movie" Well, whadoyaknow? It's about a pandemic and the philosophy of death all directed by a guy who, in real life, apparently had issues with his ultra-religious father.

Black and white. Subtitles. Allegory. All the stuff that tends to pique my interest.

Is it 100% relevant to the current global pandemic? No, but it's a good (virtual) watch party option.

That movie was from director, Ingmar Bergman. Great movie.

Find 'Winter Light' by him. It's also very thought provoking.

Extraction A quarantine treat to be sure.

Just saw this myself. Very pleasantly surprised! Good action flick!

Didn't expect it to be John Wick paced at all. A part 2 is in the works I hear.

Ghost in the Shell, 1995 anime version. I would post the movie poster, but it's a bit NSFW.

Took the long weekend to be productive by watching movies non-stop...

    Winter Light (1963)
Based on @GoJohnGo71's recommendation. I saw it as a story of the folly of self-absorption whereas reviews I saw after the film deem it a dark comedy or even autobiographical.

    The Perfect Host (2011)
The entire movie had me like...

    1st act: 😱 | 2nd act: 😫 | 3rd act: 🤔

Also, kudos to David Hyde Pierce and his "silly walk."

    3022 (2019)
Astronauts in space. The entire planet Earth explodes into oblivion while they're in space. Not sure I liked the ending but the movie was a good watch.

I Hate The Man In My Basement (2020)
Manny Montana is in it. That is all I need. There's a plot, of course, but, umm, Manny...so...🤷🏿

I signed up for the Disney+ trial about 2-3 weeks ago and watched The Love Bug since I saw at least one of the other movies from the series as a kid in the 80s. Also watched The Black Hole (1979) during my Disney+ trial. That one definitely would've been a better fit in its time if it had been released before Star Wars, because it's pretty dark, especially for a Disney film. The ending is pretty good, though.

Zero Hour! (1957) Not many people know this, but the movie Airplane! is a parody of Zero Hour, with entire scenes lifted directly from the original almost verbatim.

Now I finally know what happened over Macho Grande, since Zero Hour went into more detail.

I like this a lot. Watched it a few times now and I’m still laughing and amused. Kiwi western.
