Hi thanks for this I have had a good look and makes sense however I see that I might have to eat more which seems completely the opposite of what i feel I should do
Excercise more ant eat less.1 -

You can absolutely eat more, IF you are certain you are eating the amount of calories you think you are. How do you figure out your portions? If it isn't with a food scale, you may be eating more calories than you think you are. Check out this thread. I'm a 5'9, 45 yoa female and I can lose on 2000 calories per day.

yeah, I lost almost all of my 80 pounds on 1800-2100 calories (that was with about 45 minutes of daily moderate exercise) and I was mid-fifties, female, 5'8" and retired when I did it.
Eat more. A lot more - if you're accurately logging.2 -
even if i was logging food a bit short most days i dont go near 1500 and exercise 300-1200
but its food for thought so to speak1 -

It's always good to experiment and determine that you are right or not. Otherwise, you may spin your wheels forever. Food scales are ~$20 at Walmart or on Amazon.5 -
Food scale. Log everything. BEFORE YOU EAT IT. <-- let me repeat that part: before you eat it. Yes. Some of your meals will be cold and you will be very grumpy while you figure out how to log properly. Have an apple to tide you over in the meanwhile and keep on logging before you eat.
I have pride in my logging. I have statistics, especially when I was actively losing. In 6+ years I missed without even an attempt to log approximately, 10 days of logging during a trip and the food that I ate on the day of a funeral. I am at maintenance and do not log before I eat anymore, or as strictly. I STILL catch myself having forgotten to add the occasional item. I STILL look through the log the next day and discover a missing candy bar. I still look through the diary and a 1kg package has ended up with only 890g logged. It HAPPENS in spite of any intentions to the contrary. Yes, it is work. it is also actionable information, especially if things are not working out as expected and intended!
ETA: of course this is NOT the only way to lose weight. But it IS a way to have the data you would need to troubleshoot lack of results.6 -
