@mbaker566 - My mom always works out with a hat on. Sweatbands/headbands never stay on her head and she sweats like crazy so a hat works best for keeping the sweat out of her eyes.1

@mbaker566 I always wear a hat. In summer to keep sun off face (only works at a few angles though), but mostly to keep the sweat out of my eyes! I have a Halo running hat that has a sweatband built-in. It channels the sweat to each side of your face so it doesn't drip down into your eyes and sting like HELL!! Actually doesn't work as well as their dedicated headbands, but it is more versatile (and not as dorky looking).3

I am new here. I downloaded the app Walk to Mordor and it got me super hooked. I am running around 9 to 11 miles for the past two weeks depending on how intense the spotify playlist is that day, haha. Anywho, I will have to take it down a notch, since blister. I am in for 200 miles.8

Hello! I'd love to join in! I'm working on increasing my mileage in hopes of a couple Fall Half Marathons. My goal for June is 75.5

I had planned to get up, eat a banana and have a couple cups of coffee, wait about 30 minutes, go on out to get my run done, rest, and then have a real breakfast. All went well until I was about ready to go out. My aunt called to check on my dad and we wound up talking for an hour. I didn't want to be away from the phone for long, so considered running on the treadmill. But, it was way too nice outside for that....66°F, low humidity, light breeze, sunny. I went ahead and took my dog for a mile walk back in the neighbor's pasture as my warm up walk, then ran laps on the driveway. I thought I would be able to hear the phone ring and, if I wasn't close enough to answer, could call right back. They didn't call. I did a 40 minute tempo run...3.0 miles and walked 1.5 miles.

June 1 – 7.16 miles
It was nice and cool at 46F this morning and low humidity. I felt I could have run the route again, but…work awaited me. My goal for the month is 130 miles. I’ve got half marathon on June 13 that the organizers have received special permission to hold. They have capped the number of participants. They plan to have wave starts. It will be interesting to see how it unfolds. It’s a challenging course out on country roads so it’s not a wildly popular race with some anyway. It’s in the Burke’s Garden area of Virginia. Beautiful country known as “God’s Thumbprint.” Story has it that at one point George Vanderbilt tried to buy it but was unable to and traveled to Asheville where he established Biltmore Gardens.
@kgirlhart – I’m so sorry for your loss.
@juliet3455 – sounds like your trail run was very adventurous!
@eleanorhawkins – can you tell a difference in your “feel” after a month of doing yoga every single day? That is so impressive!
@elise4270 – I love your summary of the human race! Sad but so true!
@skippygirlsmom – are you streaking again this month?
@mbaker566 – I use a hat to help keep sun out of my eyes and the band absorbs sweat on my forehead so that keeps it out of my eyes. There is a line of hats called Headsweats designed to specifically do that. Sunglasses bother me sometimes when I’m really sweaty and they slide down my nose!
Welcome to all the newcomers to this thread!Anyone heard from @Camaramandy648 and her son's test results?3 -
@mbaker566 I love my visor. I wear a knit cap for the coldest part of winter and the visor the rest of the time. It's got a velcro back so I can fit it exactly to my head, it's flexible for whatever I want to do with my hair (I've currently got short hair, but I've used it with really long hair in a ponytail too), and I don't have to put sunscreen on my forehead (which keeps it out of my eyes). Also, it keeps the rain off my glasses when it's raining.3

I've just started running in the last month or so and need some motivation and accountability to stick to it. I'm so happy I found this group! My goal is to run a couple times a week, for a total of about 10km per week, so 40 km this month! The ticker is so much fun, here it is My first run this month will be this evening, so I'll update it then!

super glad i didn’t isolate him only to find out it’s not THE virus.
He seems to be improving and getting energy back so I will probably not push for more tests right now. What a strange few days it has been.
My June goal is 160 miles!17 -
