Quick update on my dad. The stress test didn't show any blockages, so he got to come home this afternoon! Yeah! They just changed up some of his medications. Hope that helps his symptoms. He seemed to be doing better on the way home.17

@quilteryoyo Yay for no blockages! So glad your dad is able to come home!
@Tramboman I missed your post earlier. My toes are all weird too.1 -
@quilteryoyo so glad your dad was able to come home. I'm sure he'll feel better being in his comfortable surroundings and not alone in the hospital too.
Sorry, I fell behind on all the comments already!

Just a run around the empty campus today. I really didn't feel like it (may have said to myself I don't want to be a runner any more) but it was a pleasant enough day, an okay run, and a good feeling to be done.7 -
Excellent news @quilteryoyo1

Great news, @quilteryoyo!
I have been SO TIRED for the last two days. The end of the work day is so rough, and I just want to fall asleep. I almost fell asleep while hubby was cooking dinner last night. I don’t know what is going on with me. I am sleeping 7-8 hours per night, which is normal for me. Anyway, too exhausted to run last night, but hubby and I did take an after dinner walk. I woke up exhausted again this morning. 😕

Yay!1 -
@katharmonic Good for you for getting out there anyways!
I was up early this morning to give a friend a ride to work, so really just wanted to go back to bed instead of run. But I managed to get myself out there, and it was nice to go earlier than usual. Less sun, heat, and people, and more birds to watch!

Commemorating Global Running Day with this effort, fastest 5k time (and fastest mile) since my retirement from the Marine Corps over ten years ago. And I think I had just a little bit more in the tank - I'll save it for my next 5k PR attempt.

I did! Hmm. Will have to think of something special like DODGE THE LIGHTNING RUN or something given the weather predictions.
ditto
and i have to decide is better to run in the area with protesters or better to run in an area with potential looters.4 -

Partly cloudy and low 70s F today. The old legs felt tired today. But the honeysuckle, lilacs, and multiflora roses smelled great -- much better than my hat.
@quilteryoyo Happy to hear your good news.
@pfprimo Great run.
Interesting fact: three branches of the U.S. Armed Forces are represented in this single post!

I just got caught up on the 100 posts I missed yesterday - @PastorVincent thanks for that ear worm!
I had a nice run early yesterday morning and then spent the afternoon cross training - kayaking down the Holston River with friends. A beautiful day to be outside. My work is prohibiting everyone from traveling over 100 miles from our work site but we have to use our vacation days before the end of the year or we will loose them. So, I had a day of staycation yesterday and another today.
Heading out to the trails soon for a run – Happy Global Running Day to everyone everywhere!7 -

Today was a little stronger and faster than Monday’s run. Same route but hit an average 11’12” min pace to beat my 11’50” min pace on Monday. My neighborhood is pretty hilly and there’s one massive one in the middle of my route that slows me down quite a bit. I’m working on getting stronger getting up it though (currently have to walk pretty much the whole thing though).4 -
@Teresa502 Looks like a fantastic staycation!
@Tramboman You always make me laugh. Thanks for your sense of humor.2 -
@quilteryoyo Happy to see the good news about your father.
@pfprimo Well done!
Summer is finally here. I *think* the curfew is finally lifted, which means I can run before 6 AM tomorrow. That will be appreciated in the heat.

Wow....I step away for a few days and we are back on Toes? I gotta keep up!
I tried a quick skim to catch up on this active, fun and chill group!
Glad that kids and dads are all right!
Yes to hats and washing them. I also wash my socks.....and occasionally my running clothes!
Love the shoe and flower porn!
I should be running on National Running Day but think I will walk....need a rest day due to several longer bike rides.
Welcome to the new members - you have found a great place to motivate your running, buying of new shoes and sharing toe pictures if you're so inclined!

I ran 7 miles this morning for Global Running Day. I really just meant to run the same run as yesterday, but I saw a big black pitbull out in someone's yard and I made a detour. I think it was a dog I saw out a week ago that turned out to belong to someone I know and she says he is extremely sweet. I believe her, but I never run past a loose dog I don't know if I see them in time to turn and go another way. It was a really nice run. Normal hot, humid summer weather, but it was still good. I still don't have my Garmin back so that is kind of frustrating, but I managed a 10:31 pace according to Strava. I felt pretty good about that given the 98% humidity and dew point of 69°. I ran through a water sprinkler a little over 3 miles in and that was nice. I re-laced my shoes so I'll see how that goes and I'm planning to order some of the toe covers later today. The theme for the Un-canceled Project this week is community. Today as I ran I thought about communities. How things are so bad in many of our communities right now, but how glad I am to have this community of runners.
@marisap2010 If the tiredness persists, you might get your B-12 levels checked. I was B-12 anemic a few years ago and it really saps your energy.
@Lexigraph I never have been much of a morning person, but a couple of years ago I got so hot running in the afternoon (and it was only about 82°F - which is not that hot in Texas in the summer) that I decided I would start running in the morning before work. Now I really enjoy it. It is nice to be out when there isn't much traffic and it also feels good to get the run in first thing.
@pfprimo Congrats on the PR's!
@teresa502 Great pictures! Looks like a fun staycation!
