Five rides this week, one was a 100km gran fondo but one was very short as I got caught in a downpour that wasn't forecast. It's been a week of working around mixed weather but being retired certainly helps with flexibility around when I ride and how long.
150 miles for the week, 328 for June so far.
My mini break from cycling to recover from saddle soreness has scuppered my chance of hitting my climbing goal unless I do a couple of hateful days of big hill repeats.3 -
Having passed my goal for the month, I decided to challenge myself more. With my new longest single ride of 30.3 miles today I am at 303.6 miles for June, and I am going to ride more than the 386 miles I rode last month.

I went 28.53 miles today, bringing me to 332.17.
Some hills, so a bit of climbing, but nothing too bad. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with hills, as I’m sure others do as well😬🚴🏻♂️2 -
Managed to get an after work ride in and hit my monthly goal. As an overweight lockdown returner to cycling on an old fixed up cheap hybrid I wasn't sure when I set a 100 mile goal that I'd even get close to it but every minute has been really enjoyable (even getting soaked!).
Thank you all for the encouragement and advice when I first joined this community.

Decided that although my climbing challenge is out of reach I still need to work on my climbing so did long hill repeats on the iconic Box Hill.
Beautiful day but a bit too hot for me or for fast times. You can make out Zig Zag Road below me.

I was out on the bike at 6am today for 2 hours before work. Absolutely gorgeous morning, the first hour had very few cars but lots of cyclists and runners getting out before the heat of the day arrived. About 55km done.2

So, after last post, I managed to entertain another migraine & was medicated & on the couch a good portion of last week! Still made myself climb on today & get a ride in today! Tried a new route & although there were some little hills in there, they were tolerable. I'll make that route again, next time stopping in the cemetery for a little visit!

Yesterday I got a 22.5 mile ride in the evening and today I got a 25.9 mile ride in the afternoon. That brings my total to 380.5, only 5.5 miles to go to beat last months total🚴🏻♂️🤘🏼3

@PGKY That sounds really cool! I like running at night, but for some reason I never go cycling when it's dark (apart from commutes in winter). But if the roads were closed for cars, I would be really motivated, no matter the hour!

Last week work was crazy, the only cycling I did was one commute (24.5km).
This week I managed one more commute (23.8km), and took the bike to work again on Thursday (11.9km), but this time I left my laptop and stuff at the office after work and turned the ride home into a longer ride (35.7km).
It was also the first time this year that I rode clipped in. I was a little worried that would result in at least one or two falls when I forgot to clip out. There was actually one close call when I had to brake to avoid a car that decided to ignore me, and the handle position made the bike lean towards the left after I already unclipped the right foot. Glad I switched from Look Keos to Speedplay Ultra Light Action last year - with the Keos I don't think I would have managed to yank my foot out!
180km for the month - past my 180km goal; thanks to the gradual return from home office to work in a commutable (is that a word?) place

Some serious winds today (worst I've braved so far) and a bit of rain in the mix too. Had a ride planned for today but when I woke up and heard the rain and winds I wasn't convinced it would be wise to head out. Did it anyway but changed my route and didn't go as far as I'd have liked. Better than not going out at all i guess.
Already hit my June goal but weather and work permitting I'm hoping to sneak one more short ride in before we hit July as I'm close to 150 miles, which would be a nice number to hit.

Windy and wet here. Ended up doing 138km anyway (partly due to a wrong turn that took me further away from home than intended) but it was a proper struggle towards the end into the headwind.3

I did a 25.7 mile ride today, and in the process I shattered my 386 mile record and set a new monthly record of 406.3 miles 💪🤘🏼🚴🏻♂️
Hopefully I can get out and do a ride tomorrow and make it even more difficult next month to try and break it😂3 -

First day of the month and time to set myself some cycling goals:
- Strava climbing challenge for sure as it does encourage me to work on my weakest aspect.
- More drive/rides for variety and exploring new areas.
- Step up my hill work from hard (10% 'ish) to very hard (15% +).
- At least two 100km+ rides.
Not a great start to June as got a mystery flat with no obvious puncture - luckily happened near a friend's house so I got a cuppa while I replaced the tube. Flats are a PITA but at least it happened in a convenient place on an unimportant ride so that's a consolation.
June wasn't great for me and missed my goals due to a health problem that meant I had to reduce my volume early in the month, weather wasn't kind (every variety of too hot, too windy and too rainy....), one bike was off the road for two weeks awaiting a replacement wheel spoke and that's the bike that I can ride in windy conditions.
Missed the climbing challenge.
Only one drive/ride but it was a good one.
Did some hard climbing but not really enough.
Only one 100km ride.
431 miles for the month and finally have both road bikes in top condition and seem to have found myself a more comfortable saddle.1 -

@AlanKmfp Ahhh, English beauty! I know, I'm strange, even when it is rainy & dreary, but to me, it is still beauty! I also like your graphic for the monthly totals. Think I'll combine one for all mine; nice to see it all spelled out in 1 place.

6/2 - 11.12 miles
6/4 - 6.8 miles
6/9 - 8.67 miles
6/25 - Rode 10.30 miles
6/30 - 9.6 miles (46.49 done, 4.49 OVER GOAL!)3 -
Ended the month with a 25.6 mile morning ride, bringing my total to 431.8 miles for the month of June. 🚴🏻♂️💪🤘🏼
