Hello, I started using this app in 2013, before I became a dietitian in 2018. I've been maintaining a 70 lb loss since April 2013; tracking with MFP has helped to keep me accountable after all of these years. I guess you can say I am a satisfied customer. :) I continue to use MFP personally, though there are other programs I use if conducting a nutrient analysis for work purposes.

One of the big downsides to this app is that some of the entries are wrong, so you have to be careful about that if you are counting calories, tracking macros, etc. There's room for a large amount of error if you don't know what you are doing yet. (Of course, this isn't an issue for an RD.) Also, some of the entries might be correct but not an accurate representation of what you are eating (e.g. a veggie soup listed as 100 calories per cup, but the one you're having has a lot more oil added, etc. and is much higher in calories).

I think the MFP database is far more complete than other tracking apps/sites I've tried. In general, tracking is (of course) not an appropriate method for everyone and not something I'd recommend to all clients. However, I've certainly found it helpful through the years and will continue to do what is working for me.
