Lose weight- no notice

I’m disappointed. I thought I lost enough to see the difference but no one said anything when I drove 4 hours to see family I haven’t seen for awhile for the 4th. Now I’m trying really hard not to go in and eat from the deserts people brought.

Sometimes people notice, but don't mention. There are a lot of people now who are very sensitive about anyone mentioning their body (you can read some threads here sometimes where people are quite offended in one way or another when others notice/mention their weight loss). So, sometimes people around us will avoid saying anything, just in order not to give offense or start something.
Please don't let other people's reactions, or lack of reactions, make you give up what you're doing for your own health and happiness.
Still, since it's a big, special occasion, I would suggest that you consider eating a small, reasonable portion of the most tempting-looking dessert, or some bite-sized samples of several.
I've felt like the weight loss process is an opportunity for weight maintenance practice: Learning habits we can use to keep weight off long term. With that in mind, there will be many parties and celebrations in your healthy-weight future. Will you plan never to eat dessert at any of those, ever again? If not, this is a good time to start learning how to enjoy celebrations, and the treats the come with them, in a manageable & moderate way. (Just my opinion, speaking from year 4+ of maintenance .)
By the way: Congratulations on your weight loss. Keep up the great progress!5 -
A lot of people think it’s rude to comment on someone’s weight. I lost 50 lbs between visits to my in-laws and only my husband’s super blunt, says whatever she thinks aunt said anything.
People commenting is not a good gauge of if weight loss is noticeable.5 -
Your post wasn’t very specific.
How many lbs have you lost?
Have you been measuring your waist, chest, legs, etc to know if there is a difference yet?
Have you been consuming more than normal sodium the day prior? It can inflate the image due to water retention.
I lost 50lbs before and people were scared to ask why. They didn’t want to mention it because they thought I was sick.
There is nothing wrong. If you feel healthier, who cares what others think about you.

Thanks. You all make perfect sense. I did end up eating a approx 1.5 in x 1.5 in scotcharoo. It only put me over my daily calorie allowance by 120. I haven’t really watched my salt intake yet because I’m still figuring out what healthy food I can eat for my daily calories. I’ll do the salt next. Thx for the help.2
