Here's a fun way to make an icy treat that won't do you in on calories.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup fat free milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 tablespoons Splenda for baking (or to taste)
6 tablespoons rock salt (regular salt will work too)
ice

Preparation:

Put fat free milk, vanilla and Splenda into a pint or quart-sized freezer bag. Seal well.

Mostly fill a large, gallon-sized freezer bag with ice and the salt, leaving room for the smaller bag.

Put the smaller bag into the larger bag and seal well.

Shake and mix the bags until the ice cream thickens, about 10 minutes or so. Voila! Ziploc Ice Cream!

*hint* wrap a towel around the bag as you shake rattle and roll it. otherwise you might just freeze your hands, lol!

It does come out as more of a thick iced milk than a creamy ice cream, but it's definitely good enough to curb an ice cream craving. And you can easily add fruit, nuts, chocolate chips, reese's pieces, andes mints, or pretty much anything else you might want in ice cream at the end to make it an extra special treat. Just remember to add in the extra calories.

I entered the ingredients I used into the recipe maker and this came out to 51 calories per baggy. Which would be a half cup serving of ice cream. Not bad, right?!

Enjoy!

Try a half cup of normal ice cream at 150-200+ calories. Just sayin'.
