Want to put an exercise bike in my room - exercise out of bed in the morning. Does the type (recumbant vs upright) matter for overall weight lose/calorie burn?

I don't know much about the effectiveness comparison but I preferred my recumbent. I could pedal and read a book at the same time. I love reading so exercise time became reading time and I was much more motivated. I also got a set of hand weights and would work my arms for 10-15 minutes. I couldn't do either on my upright without being in danger of falling off.0
