My name is Esther Brodrick-Shehu and am a Nigerian living in Nigeria, I need to find fellow Nigerians on MFP so we can share ideas and recipes. Counting calories on mFP is so helpful but most time the foods are not on the food list and so calorie counting can be Misleading. It's so nice to see some of our food on the food list, I was so excited the day I saw Eba and bitter leaf soup on the list. The weight loss journey so far is good all thanks to MFP.

Hi
I am new here. I weigh 320lbs and would like to lose the weight. I hope I find like minds and the support here to lose the weight. I wish I live in USA so I can join the 'Biggest loser' show!! I need an active group0 -
Hey! Thank God, I finally found some Nigerians! I'm Chioma, proudly a Nigerian and also live in Nigeria. I weight 81kg( I think that's 182lbs?) which is way too much considering my height (5'5) and all that. I used to weigh 56kg but I ended up gaining all that weight in 6 months due to some new medication I was doing, causing me to over eat. If anyone is interested in sharing recipes and motivations with me then just send me a reply! Oh and am moderately active (I don't gym but I move around a lot )0

Hey there! I’m Nigerian too I also gained weight due to medication 65lbs over 3years and although I’ve stopped the medication now I’m finding it hard to get back to my old self. I’m currently 215. I used to be a gym fanatic but lately I’m mostly sedentary. Efo will not let me blow. Feel free to ADD me up0

Hi Ladies, very excited to connect with people who understand our extra starchy foods in Naija My biggest challenge is dinner when after a long day I just want some rice and stew until my tummy feels full! Been working on making healthier options that still make me feel full like soups and Brown rice. What's everyone else doing?0

Hi, I'm Ogor, proudly Naija bit currently based in Australia. Started keto again after 2 kids. Just looking for food inspiration, I'm already seeing results and I don't want to go off track1

Hi. Let’s set some weight loss goals and smash them together0
-
Hey, is this group still active?0

Seems it's not. I'm gonna borrow an idea a from nairaland thread. They basically post their daily food and exercise log and weigh ins but the thread is so old I can't possibly resurrect it. So I'll be using this instead.0

@omanwaije, so sorry to read you not very well, take it easy and hope you get better soon.1

Thank you. I went through your diary and wow! Like ehh I've realised I've been taking it easy all this while😅 so I'm gonna do some more research to find cardio workouts that burn the most calories like running. I'd run but I HATE running cause I'm so out of shape and end up gasping like a fish after about 5mins unless I'll do running in place. My sports bra is about to give up😪 so no public/outdoors runs0

I have a mi band 4 but it has never been accurate. I just finished 30mins skipping, running on the spot and marching as sort of warm up and then I did this tae bo workout I discovered for 30mins too back to back no rest. The running and marching were sort of breaks. So total I did cardio for 1hr today, my max bpm was 179, my average was 161 which is the anaerobic spot for me and this stupid mi band is telling me I burned 384 calories. Like howwwwwww?? And my calorie burn as at now is 434 I.e including 7.5k steps already achieved. MFP has me at 800+calories burned from the above workout. The difference is just too much0
-
Oh and mi band doesn't sync with S Health or MFP so my 7.5k steps dont matter😔 well bonus for me. How about you?0
