Welcome!
Personally I don't get peeved easily so I can't think of anything.2 -
Welcome!
Pet peeves, I have many. How much time ya got?5 -
Recipes that do not have specific quantities. Such as listing '2 chicken breasts' as an ingredient. Are those chicken breasts 6 ounces each, or 8 or 10?8

"Know-it-all" posters who look to cut folks down instead of encouraging them. Words are powerful and helpful when used correctly!12

Plans that make losing weight sound so complicated I give up before I start.2

As a flip side to this, those that assume we are insulting them when we are just giving them facts that contradict their incorrect information, e.g. that eating fat makes you gain weight.
Yes, Tesha231, you have a point. Both exist here but for the most part this is a very polite and helpful group.16 -

My mother in law STILL insists that eating fat will make her fat. Huge pet peeve of mine is when people don’t believe facts even when you have reputable sources: like the fat will make you fat people.

If you overeat one day, it doesn't mean that you completely sabotaged yourself. You just start fresh again the next. People give up too easy and need to forgive themselves.6

When a OP asks for a specific answer to a specific concern and then people might state: "why do you want to do/change that? etc., "- not offering anything the OP asked.4

However, if the OP exhibits signs of an eating disorder OR self harm via their diet, then I understand people saying “why do you want to change that”. Sorry, specific thread regarding some 19 yr old who is borderline underweight with irregular menstrual cycles trying to lose 10 lbs came to mind. Those people in general are another pet peeve of mine. She gets great advice from people here and then just creates another thread about her inability to lose weight...

People who respond to a thread without reading the existing responses... blarg.10

I literally can not stand that. When someone asks a question and instead of answering it people are like. “Why do you want to do that?” Or “You don’t need that.” Like is that what I asked?! 🙄0 -
My some of my current peeves:
Perfectly able bodied people who don’t put shopping carts away in designated areas.
People who use certain words that we rarely used to hear, just because they are popular right now. Like “Normalize” or “Toxic”.
When I’m in the middle of a phone call and someone starts talking to me at the same time. Oh I want to strangle people that do that 😤

There is an explanation for that. Sometimes new dieters think they NEED to do that specific thing which they don't exactly like to lose weight. They think they don't have a choice, so a reminder that they do is always nice. If they still choose to do that specific thing, then all power to them. The other case we see often is people who are making choices that could harm their health (undereating, over-exercising, disordered eating patterns...etc).6 -

I can understand in some cases. But for example I have been into a fitness lifestyle for over 10 years. So if I ask what everyone’s favorite pre workout is and I just get “You don’t need a pre workout”. That’s not helpful. I personally like pre workouts and the kick they give me. If other people don’t, then they have nothing to offer to the conversation I’m starting and should just keep scrolling.3 -
Being told how to do something by someone who doesn't have anymore of a clue than I do.
Someone reading me an article that I have absolutely zero interest in. But if I try and share something with them I get 'I don't care'.
People who don't wash their hands. Seriously. Dh used the bathroom the other day, came right out and touched my face. I flipped out on him.
Making anything right on the kitchen counter without washing the counter before or after.
Leaving dishes in the sink, caked on with leftover @rap and not throwing a bit of water at it. Same with anything in a cup, makes them all that much harder to wash.
People who make jokes at the expense of others without a clue if it hurts their feelings or not.
People not masking up and not staying away from me.
Ooh, I'm just getting started.4 -
People that constantly fail at losing weight making "friends" with others that do the exact same thing, looking for those that they can commiserate with when they fail again. If someone is constantly on and off the wagon, don't friend them. They will sabotage your success.3

There's this particular brand of frozen pizza that we occasionally get, and the serving size is listed as "1/3 pizza". But the pizza is divided into 8 slices, and 8 isn't an even multiple of 3.14

That was my thought, too. For example, there are a lot of posts asking how to cut sugar and carbs out of their diets. Many people could simply respond with ideas to help the poster reach that goal. BUT, sometimes it's a good idea to respectfully ask the poster WHY they want to accomplish this?
Do they have a medical condition that makes it necessary? Or, do they think they HAVE to do this to lose weight? Will this change make them completely miserable and ultimately fail at reaching their goal?
I think it's important to give information, even if the poster didn't ask for it specifically. The poster is free to disregard any advice that they don't want to follow. And again, this should all be done respectfully.6 -
BTW, the posts that DO really bother me...when someone asks, "What's the best way to prepare carrots?", and someone replies, "I hate carrots, so I don't." That's a good example of when you should simply not reply to a post when you have nothing to contribute.11

You must be between the ages of thus and so and weigh X amount of pounds after you've taken your shower. Don't judge 'me', don't tell me what to do. You must inspire me and motivate me. You must do everything you can for me because taking the bull by the horns is just too exhausting. I want to lay back in the weeds and wait for the weight to fall off. I want to drop it like it's hot while I continue to fly by the seat of my pants.
I'm not going out like that. Take full responsibility for yourself.
Remember: You're too darned smart to be the ONLY thing standing in your way. Thanks for letting me weigh in on this.

A piece of art or mirror that is off center - even just by a tiny, tiny amount lol! (which I fix immediately! lol)0

People who don’t get up to freeway speed to merge onto the freeway.1
-
Long convoluted explanations of why someone thinks they are right.0

When people build arguments on presuppositions that I don't believe, then fail to argue for their presupposition. It is not a logical argument if your starting point isn't believed by all parties.1

All the useless drivel at the beginning of a recipe on a blog. I get it, this is your chance to "shine" and show us how witty and creative you are, but no one really cares! Just give us the freakin recipe!8

People who are gaining weight and yet still insist they are not eating too much. Usually accompanied by a list of the things they "only ate" today/this week.
The hardest lesson I had to learn was to be brutally honest with myself about what I actually ate.
People who don't understand that facts are not just "my opinion". Then go on to give me their opinion without any facts to back it up.
People who use phrases incorrectly.
He was just an escape goat. NO, He was just a scape goat.
You have another thing coming. NO You have another think coming
Nip it in the butt. NO Nip it in the bud.
The list is endless.
Yes I am a picky, argumentative, stroppy cow. 👿

When people say "COULD OF" or " SHOULD OF" .....it's COULD HAVE! or SHOULD HAVE!3
-
When girls think that in order to be in shape and beautiful they can’t have any fat on their bodies... ESPECIALLY right after having a baby 🙄 sister in law hated that she had some stomach fat after her baby and I’m like “girl. It’s normal. You just had a baby.”3
