How to log my Ballet class??

So, I started taking ballet (for the first time since I was 5)! It's very humbling!

Anyway, I have no idea how to log it. I know there is a ballet/dance category, but most of the class is spent stretching, doing footwork, etc. Not a lot of jumping around and dancing.

Any ideas?

Get a good HRM. Then log it however you want, counting the calories that your HRM says you burned.

maybe Hatha Yoga? it's likely about the same burn... lots of stretching, some strength, etc.
  • you can log the stretching...really good workout...

Yeah, I'd go with this. If you were taking jazz or tap, it'd probably be aerobics. Ballet is certainly strength and stretching ... not so much with the aerobics, though. Hope you had a good time!
  • Oh, if only I could afford an HRM. Maybe for Christmas . . . hmmmm...

Anyway, thanks for the great ideas. I think that Hatha Yoga idea is probably my best bet!

You can get a reliable HRM from Amazon for around $40. Best way to log your classes.
