Shredding in September

Hi everyone
I'm new to this site... But I too have started the 30 day shred.
I'm on level one day five, however I skipped Sunday due to work but I am determined to see the full 30 days through.
Does anybody find the jumping jacks and jump rope combination an absolute killer?
& I still don't think I'll ever be able to do a full round of press ups or bicycle crunches - they are evil.
I haven't really jumped on the scales yet but I did try and have a go at measuring myself just to have a sneaky peek and see if I've lost anything and it looks like I'm down some inches already
Good luck ladies & gents!
Wish I could say happy shredding lol
Would be nice to have some friendly support for the next 25 days x0 -
I finished L1D6 yesterday, will do D7 tonight, as I have to work late! Thanks for the visual silverkittykat! I know it took me a bit to make sure I was doing it correctly - the whole idea of "stick your butt out" actually really helped me, haha! Most of my soreness has gone away now, and I definitely feel like I can see a difference already (haven't weighed or measured, so I don't know for sure!) I am getting excited (and scared) for level 2!!0

hey shredders, I'm back to a computer! I did D5 yesterday and D6 this morning. Still modifying the cardio due to my tendon, which is slowly starting to feel better. I think a good pair of sneakers will help even more. I'm going to try tomorrow without modifying the cardio and see how it feels.
Hope all of you are shredding still, I know Jillian's voice can get annoying... any dvd annoys me once I start to know all of the words, like I do on this one.
If a level is becoming too easy for you, Jillian suggests you move to the next level, but I still have issues with certain moves in level 1 so I prefer to stay on it the full 10 days! We're almost done level 1, just 4 more days and it's on to level 2! yay0 -
Hi Pud90! yeah....jumping jacks are enough, by the time we jump rope my feet barely get off the ground.
Jerzeeblondie, so glad you're starting to feel better. :flowerforyou: I, personally, will not be moving to another level. One is more than enough.0 -
I hope everyone is still shredding away! I just finished L1D8!!!
I am going to visit my mom/sisters for a long weekend, and leaving either tonight or tomorrow,
but I plan on continuing the shred while I'm gone! Wish me luck!0 -
Completed Day 7 yesterday but modified cardio so there was no "bouncing", the back of my neck hurt and I didn't need/want any more pain.
I'll post again when I finish today.....0 -
Day 8 Level 1 - Sooooo sore.......I bought some 8 pound dumbells today and used them on everything but the lunges. :noway: Everything else went well, I'm still doing cardio but without the bouncing. Definite improvement over the 1st few days, it's almost enjoyable.
Level 2 sounds hard.....I can't believe it's only 3 days away. Is everyone checking in and taking 10 day measurements on Saturday/Sunday?0 -
AHH! I missed yesterday, so I am doing D9 &D10 today (just did 9!) Can't believe I'll be starting L2 tomorrow!
I usually do a weigh-in Friday morning, but I am away from home and my scale, so i will have to wait and do my
check-in Monday morning. I hope everyone is doing great and getting ready for LEVEL 2!!!
OH! NSV for me yesterday - I am getting married 10.1.11 - I bought my dress in February, and I ordered it 2 sizes
smaller than what i tried on ( for extra motivation to get in shape before my big day).
As of last night, IT FITS!!!0 -
Fantastic NSV!!!!
I'm so glad you're a day ahead of me, you can give a "heads up" on Level 2!0 -
Day 9 on Level 1 is done.......so much more enjoyable now. I was even able to get in a decent yoga session today.0

I did level 2 day 1 yesterday... man is it ever intense. for some reason during the planking my neck starts hurting. level two has me sweating like a pig, but i'm determined. i'm doing day 2 today.0

wow.....just did L2D1 a couple hours ago and my neck hurts a bit too..For me it was those planks where you jump forward and back. Tomorrow I'll have to try walking forward instead of jumping and watch Anita? to see if there's an easier option.
I thought about taking a day off before starting Level 2 but didn't want to lose my momentum, so it's done for the day.
Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be! I didn't use any weights though, just wanted to learn the moves first. I did get lost on those lunges where you move forward and then back using the same leg.....of course she was already on to another move by the time I had it down.
I'll weigh and measure tomorrow AM.........hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! :flowerforyou:0 -

Alright, I am back home and getting back into my regular routine of things! How is everyone doing with L2??
It certainly isn't easy, but it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, because in everything I've read,
people always say L2 is the worst! I guess I had prepared myself for the worst! haha0 -

I did the same thing! I skipped the weights for D1 just to get a feel for L2 first.0 -
Same weight and same measurements as Day 1, but I'm patient.
I feel like I'm getting a much better workout on Level 2.... my endurance is definitely increasing.
Will complete Level 2 Day 13 this afternoon and get in some yoga this later this evening.0 -
where did everyone go?0

where did everyone go?
Everyone does seem to have disappeared!! Hopefully it's because they're so busy getting
SHREDDED!!? haha! About to do my Level 2 for the day! My lower abs have really been sore from
this level, which makes me very happy, because that is a tough spot to work on!0 -
ok, I haven't checked in since I started. I have been frusterated b/c the scale won't move nor the inches. I finally got my Bodymedia Fit for my Bday and it seems that I am undereating based on how many calories I'm burning throughout the day...in fact my deficit was 1700 yesterday.
I hope thats why I was at a stand still.
However, I am on D4 of L2. I burned about 180 cal. Its getting easier but day 1 of L2 was a killer...I'm looking foward to next week L3, just cause I'm getting so bored of L2.
hows everyone's results coming?0 -
I'll be completing Level 2 Day 16 later today, just a quick post to say I'm down 1 inch on my waist! Not bad after only 2 weeks. All other measurements remain the same but I feel firmer.0

Nice gift, Happy B! :flowerforyou:
1700 does sound like quite a bit......will you try upping your calories?0 -

That's awesome! I measured at the beginning of this week and I have lost 2 inches off of both my waist and my hips!! (probably why I could fit into my wedding dress!)0 -
Yes, I have been upping my calories and I try to have an off day so that I can dip my calories low to so I've been eating around 1500 cal on lower (burn only 2500) burn days and 1900 on higher (burn over 3000 cal) days.
I moved ahead a little early to L3, I was bored and unmotivated to do the last day of level 2 But I tell you L3 is hard! I always did the advance version on L1 and L2. But L3 I had to do Everything modified...good workout I burned 233 cals0 -
Last day of Level 2!
Unfortunately. I really like 2.0 -
I've been sick the last few days and missing the shred! I am feeling a bit better today, though - I might start doubling up days to try to catch up and still finish before my wedding!! Hope everyone is still shredding!0
