What are the TOP 25 foods you eat? You can find this in your food diary by starting to add a food and then clicking on "All Meals" on the "Most Used" tab. I try to do this about once a month because it's a really eye-opening exercise for watching trends in what you eat.

Here are mine (definitely NOT perfect):
Blueberries - Raw
Butter - Salted
Nature's Path - Organic Flax Plus Maple Pecan Crunch
Hershey's - Kisses Brand Chocolates - Special Dark
Skippy Natural Creamy - Peanut Butter Spread With Honey
Farm Valley - Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Strawberries - Raw
Nectarines - Raw
coffee - regular
Organic Greens - Mixed Baby Greens-Lettuce
Generic - Graham Crackers
Cucumber - With peel, raw
Trader Joe's - Feta Cheese Crumbled
Market Basket - Deli Slims 100% Whole Wheat
Nutella - Nutella
Eggs - (whole egg)
Mission - Whole Wheat Flour Tortilla
Newmans Own - Light Caesar Dressing
Generic - Red Plum
Milk - Reduced fat, 2% milkfat
Generic - Grape Tomatoes
Natures Path - Flax Plus Granola - Vanilla Almond
Craisins-Dried Cranberries
Kashi - Go Lean Crisp! - Toasted Berry Crumble
Terra - Exotic Vegetable Chips-Original

**I noticed that yogurt didn't make the list even though I eat it daily. I assume this is because I change flavors and brands all the time.

Seems like I'm hitting a lot of steamed fresh vegetables. They are filling and I enjoy the taste and they don't kill my calorie budget. I also make sure I have a little bread product for breakfast and I don't skimp on fake butters -- I just use a lot less! My only aim is to stay under 1600 calories daily per doctor's instructions, so I'm lucky I don't have to count sodium or carbs or anything else. :)

I'm going to do the top 25. Until then, it'd probably be Baby Spinach. It goes in my blueberry/strawberry yogurt smoothie and I make a killer Baby Spinach salad many times a week.
  • What's working for me is a very consistent breakfast consisting of either:

3 types of tofu substitutes (sprouted + soy chorizo + soy sausage) with spices, tomatoes, onions, fried, with some Greek yogurt.

    OR

Irish steel cut oats with fruit and almond milk.

    Fantastic!

Salad mix, cucumbers, roma tomatoes, tomatoes, olive oil, red wine vinegar, homemade balsamic dressing (even though I haven't had any in almost a month), green bell pepper, red bell pepper, two brands of baby carrots, three brands of low fat shredded mozzarella, two brands of sugar snap peas, Lean Cuisine garlic chicken spring rolls (I love these!), Laughing Cow garlic and herb (weird - I haven't had any of this in almost a month either because I've been on a Swiss kick), popcorn kernels, Bear Naked granola, peanut butter, whole wheat bread, skim milk, chicken breasts and Mountain Dew - which is super weird because I haven't had any since before the 4th of July when I officially quit.

All in all, not bad. Most fresh veggies & salad fixings.

I thought it was awesome to see the OP had butter as #2 !

I luuuv butter. One of the things that kept me from even thinking about dieting for 30 years was the fear that I might have to give up butter and other wonderful forms of (natural) fat. Without my butter and the occasional ribeye, I would be so out of here !

Thanks and I'm glad that was good for you to see (no sugar coating here...). I don't use large quantities of butter, but I use small amounts on toast, bagels, corn on the cob and in some recipes, so it is a top used food for me. I'm completely with you, I will never eliminate natural fats from my life.

Wow...I really like my coffee and dairy products. I guess the chicken and fish I eat doesn't really show up because they're different all the time. I know it looks like almost all breakfast-type food, but I guess since I don't like eating a variety of food in the morning, breakfast foods are the most consistent in my diary, haha.
