FYI. Problem doesn't seem common, but potentially high consequence.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what pedals they come with? Did Peleton roll their own? Can their customers send the pedals back, keep the bike, and use pedals of their choosing?

Had that happen on my AD Pro (Schwinn Assault Bike). Was very lucky not to have been hurt. The metal snapped in half. Obviously not a quality metal used.

If I spent $1900 on a Peloton and $40/mo for the videos, I'd pissed if anything on the bike ever broke.

I have a LeMond RevMaster pro that's built like a tank. Nothing has ever broken on it. Cost me $1k. Added a pair of clipless pedals 2 it for around $150 that have never broken either.

Assume u can replace the pedals on a Peloton w/the pedals of your choice. Send the recalled pedals back and toss the replacements in a box in case u ever decide to sell the bike.
