Getting w/ the times...

So, my boy just started Kindergarten at a private school. There is an online system for everything from emailing the staff, fundraisers, parent directory, paying tuition, etc... That's great.

My gripe is that it doesn't permit at all for divorced or non-married co-parenting. There's a place for both names, but only one address. It doesn't separate tuition by payee (which is particularly problematic b/c it's a tax deduction as a charitable contribution). It messages both parents together without specifying who it's really addressing (for example: You've been chosen as our class reader this Friday... ok, which one of us?) Only one of us can get snail-mail from the school and church.

I'm blessed - my ex-husband and I are actually really good friends and work everything out together. But in this day, I would think having it accommodate two households isn't too much to ask.

Done griping.

That does sound really limited and annoying. I have to say that our daycare is also limited like that.

This must be your first rodeo...lol. Simple answer, NO. You can give them the information or fill out two of those massive phone books they call applications, but they are still gonna mess it up anyway so forget it. It is not worth the headache. My daughter's preferred name at home has been changed since she started VPK as there are two girls with her name in their class, so they call her by her first name. I could have went up there and insisted that they call her by her preferred name, but then they would teach her that e comes before i except after w...lol.

If these places would hire me as their business analyst, this would all be fixed...but alas, the education industry cannot afford me.

These are the kind of problems I solve on a regular basis in my industry...except instead of permission slips, it's dual-credentialling FDA compliance documentation, etc
