i set my lifestlye on MFP as sedentary but i move around the house, exercise, cook and clean
so can't i just keep it as sedentary and count EVERY task i do as an exercise
for example. today i moved around the house for around 3 hours total so i counted that as a slow walk for 60 minutes to keep it a minimum...
can i do that? im using the sedentary lifestyle as a bmR basically.
i'm confused and i hope you understand what i mean!!

I have mine set at sedentary. I therefore log all my exercise. I don't however log regular housework - I did spend a day at a trying to help clean a horders house and i sure logged that - shopping etc.

It says ont he description for people who don't do a lot, have office jobs etc i figure that when i had an office job i still went and did shopping and did housework etc so it'd not do to add it in separate.

When you set your activity level to sedentary, MFP still gives you a few extra hundred calories. For example I set my account to sedentary and my BMR is 1250 calories, but MFP says I burn 1600 a day. So they already count small calories like walking 2.0 and standing and typing, etc.
  • oh okayy but i didnt think they gave me extra cals because my calorie goal everyday is 1200, its a minimum :S but maybe its because i want to lose a pound a week. Thank you for your answers i just kept it as a 60 minute walk since i was dealing with kids today!
