Just spent 70 dollars instead of cooking dinner myself..

Man I need to make better decisions. I have plenty of healthy food in the fridge. Wife and kiddo where hungry and instead of getting off my butt and making my family dinner I called in pizza. The only logical upside to what i did was not having to get off the damn couch. Lazy... need to make better decisions. I think I am going to go out of my way to get up early, do dishes and cook a light healthy breakfast and try to start a cycle of better decisions

Rant ended thankyou for listening

I find what helps me is planning ahead of time, even if it's just one day ahead. If I have it in my mind, "we're having spaghetti tonight," when I wake up, I tend to be more likely to actually make it.

Maybe that would help you a bit?

    Yep.. helps me too..

I prelog a 3 or 4 days in advance so I know roughly what I'll be having.

Yep--don't demonize a pizza. If you and your family order once in a while it'll be good for your mental health. If you can plan for takeout and what it'll be, you can save up calories and also know how large your portion can be. Getting back to your regular calorie routine the next day is important. Do not punish yourself--enjoy that pizza, and then go on. Weight loss is also a mental battle. You have to put yourself in a good place. Enjoy a few treats, but log them. After a while you'll find that some things just aren't worth it--others sure are. Good luck.

    I agree above 👆
It happened, and having a takeout day doesn’t eliminate your goals. I have found though that when I have a full fridge sometimes I get overwhelmed with the possibilities and I shut down as well.
So I will plan a couple of dinners in advance - maybe only two. Just so I am somewhat on track. I usually justify it to my lazy self as “I need to get the stuff that will go bad first out of the fridge”.
    Good luck!

What the two above me said.
You have all the healthy food still in the fridge sometimes we need a little indulgence. We order in every Friday, usually it's Thai food so it's fairly healthy but if my son picks it's pizza. Just make smart choices. You can keep the calories and sodium down on pizza by getting all veggies on it.

I tell myself that weight loss is one decision at a time. It is as simple as; Do I choose fried chicken or baked chicken?

Exactly this... we order take out every week and sometimes more. What has helped recently is planning meals for the week and doing the food shopping for those meals only. Helps keep the waste down.

    Definitely planning is the key.
    Make a shopping list.
    Plan meals for the week.
    Batch cook & freeze portions.
Make a list of foods /meals in freezer & cross out foods you eat.
That way you will always have something in & wont need to rely on take outs.
    Hope this helps 😃
