Am I eating too many CARBS??

Can someone please take a look at my diary & tell me if I am eating too many carbs? I do not eat any bad carbs.. Most of my carbs come from whole grains / sprouts such as ezekiel bread, kashi go lean, oatmeal or grain flax seed crackers.. But please feel free to leave your opinion. Thanks!

Btw I am at a 1,220 cal intake per day & go to the gym only 3 times a week..

  • I looked at this past week; it seems that you eat within your limit half of the time, and the days you go over, you don't go over by much. And plus, you eat complex carbs, not simple carbs. Congrats, I think you have a healthy diet under control. So why are you worried? Because you went over by 20 grams today?
  • Doesn't look like your doing bad at all. My nutritionist told for a 1200 call you should eat around 120g of carbs.

    Thankyou for taking the time to look at my diary! Yeah, sometimes I get a bit worried I guess because I'm still new to learning more about "carbs" & nutrition in take.. Even though I am eating complex carbs & when I do go over for some reason I just feel bad lol! Especially when seeing posts on here about staying at 100g carbs per day!

    There isn't a set limit that's appropriate across the population. It depends on many things including your genetics, your training, your insulin sensitivity, etc.

    The way I'd look at it is this...

    Am I getting enough protein?

    Am I getting enough healthy fats?

    Am I getting at least a few sources of fibrous veggies?

    Am I eating a couple pieces of fruit?

    If, after those bases are covered, there's till room in terms of calories, pretty much anything is fair game. Don't get sucked into the mindset of labeling foods as either good or bad.

    for the most part your carb intake looks pretty clean. you may want to try lowering to a max of 100 'net' (carbs minus fiber grams) carbs per day...just to see if you see/feel a difference.
