Not new, but I've been gone a while...

Hi everyone!

I'm not *technically* new to this site (I've had this account since 2013), but this is the first I've been on here since 2017, so I figured I should reintroduce myself!

So I'm 36, and I've struggled with my weight most of my adult life. I'm 5'8, and the lowest weight I've been as an adult was when I was 23/24, and around 150lbs. That was the time I felt most confident and best about my body.

When I left this site in 2017, I was 237lbs, but I think the highest I have been was close to 250.

Sticking with any sort of eating plan, or exercise routine, or anything has always been EXTREMELY difficult for me, and I didn't understand WHY. I knew what to do, but I couldn't do it.

In August of 2019, at the age of 35, I was diagnosed with ADHD, and I have since learned that adults with ADHD and obesity tend to be directly linked. That was a shock to me.

So I've been medicated for 15 months, and I've managed to get down to 220lbs (yay!), but now I'm ready to try this again, and make a serious effort, now that I'm armed with a better understanding of my own brain and the struggles it produces. This site has always been so helpful in keeping me accountable (when I remembered to log on!), so I'm hoping this time will be the time I'm successful at last!

Anyway, I'll stop rambling, but I'm hoping to connect with others, because that's always so helpful as well! Looking forward to meeting new friends!

    Hi Dori!

I feel like I could have almost written this myself! I can never seem to be disciplined enough or get past the cravings to stick to anything long term and it’s so frustrating! I get so mad at myself for always sabotaging my progress and then I give up and start again down the road.

    I’d love to be friends!

Hopefully we can do it this time now that we have a better mindset going in! 💕

I'd love to be friends. I had lost 120 lbs on this site but fell off in 2017. I am now at 240 lbs and would like to get back to 165. I am 51 yrs old and just lost my 28 year old son to a motorcycle accident in Sept so I've been eating my emotions. I am trying to get it together but I need friends to encourage and to encourage me. Would love to be that friend with you.
