I am a bit 'backed up' - if you know what I mean. I need suggestions on 'moving' things along gently and preferably naturally.

Hi - I have this problem and the only real natural solution is to drink lots! If you struggle with plain water (I do) then try squash (reduced sugar if you can). Good luck!0

Have you tried Traditional Medicionals Smooth Move tea? Usually works pretty good for me. They have a regular and chocolate flavored. I didn't like the chocolate but the other one isn't too bad.0

You need to up your soluable fiber.... I have suffered with this myself for years and found the best way was having a portion of oats everyday for example.0

Definitely prunes. Or prune juice. Never failed to help me out when I needed a push0

I get metamucil or Benefiber and that helps me get going again within a day or two. Hope this helps.0

Step 1: Mix some Benefiber or Metamucil into a large glass of water
Step 2: Eat a giant salad with no dressing, drinking sips of the water between each bite
Step 3: Wait 10 minutes
Step 4: Run to the bathroom.0 -

Ditto!! Very effective. It's in the organic section of the grocery store usually...I've only tried regular. I don't sweeten it, I just chug it. And then patiently wait for about six hours and VOILA...(although to be fair, it wasn't always so "smooth" hahahah). ;o)0 -
A little apple cider vinegar in your water a couple times a day.
Also anything fermented like kimichi and tempeh.0 -
Stool softener like Doc-Q-Lace and some fiber like metamucil0

EXERCISE helps too! When we exercise it helps with muscles in torso to move the intestines and movement. Also prune juice mixed with apple juice. Lots of water. And what a doctor told me which is so true. When nature does call go! And don't rush it either. Sit and be patient.0

Prunes, Yogurt, Raisins. If they don't work,:flowerforyou: I take Citricel everyday and go every morning without fail. No matter what I eat the day before. Watch bulk forming fiber like Metamucile it will constipate you big time if you don't drink tons of water.0

ground flax seed. It can be added to just about anything without altering the flavor. I personally add it regularly to oatmeal, smoothies and baked goods.0

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I have been using the smooth tea for a while but it isn't doing the job. I eat tons of fruit and veggies. I will look into the probiotic and the flax seed. I had forgotten about prune juice ( always a help :0).0

Activia light worked wonders for me. I ate and drank everything that everyone said would work - lots of fiber, water, fruits and veggies and nothing worked. So then I tried Activia - after about 5 days - I started going everyday. Here it is 3 months later - I still go everyday - at the same time too. You can't get any better than that! Regularity is awesome!0
