New to this and wanting to be healthy

Hello and Happy New Year!!! I am new as of today, trying to navigate everything.
I am a nurse and this year has really taken a toll on me and my colleagues, work has been stressful so the stress eating has occured. I am wanting to get as healthy as possible during this pandemic. Stay safe

    Welcome. You can do it.

Thank you for all you and your colleagues are doing. It is high stress and long hours.

Hugs, stress eating is tough -- I fell into that in 2020 too. Do you have a plan for 2021?

thank you for all your work and welcome, couple key things that have helped me, and I am currently at my desired weight so been there done that, not bragging just wanting to help

    1. this is a solo flight, this is a one woman sport, I know the whole point of this site is support and positive this and positive that, but the sooner you accept that you and only you can do this the sooner you will be ok with it and you won't feel like an island, and then you will just have to find the thing inside of you inside of yourself to power you through it, all the exterior forces are just superfluous

    2. once you figure it out, which you will, you will look back and go oh my this is so much easier than I thought than everyone and everything makes it appear to be, it really is (hint: in the end you just eat less, and guess what you get to exercise less ha ha)

    couple tips, and specific advice

    1. the easiest calories to burn are the ones you don't put in your mouth in the first place, (think about it) learn how to put the fork down (Greg Doucette), don't drink your calories, sodas are empty calories, flavored coffee is expensive and full of sugar, you're a nurse you know all this

    2. incorporate as much exercise into your daily routine as you can,

2a. hey is your place of work multi stories, great, take the stairs, but but I've been on my feet for 12 hours.... take the stairs

2b. can you walk to work do you live close enough? can you park further away from the store and walk more?

see you on the other side
