Hi , I'm karl 46 , ive been a keen runner for the past few years and have used races 10ks, half marathons , OCRs as my motivation , covid has stopped all that and has also stopped my motivation .
I want to find friends who can get me motivated to lose the 2 stone I've put on in the last year and get back to a healthy life style again.
Please add me or drop me a message if you think you can help π

I spot a fellow Mudder I have a love/hate relationship with running...hate the thought, love being out when I go. I'm more of a 5/10k than a half marathon, I did 20k once and once only.....
Im just kickstarting my workouts after them tailing off back in September. I did the worlds Slowest 5k today!!! If I can get back out there, you can!!!1 -
Yup done a couple of 5ks this week , 1 went well the other just hurt lol0

I have been doing a lot of virtual runs since September. I do them on my elliptical, but it keeps me moving. Some I purchased online, but I made a few racing bibs just to have fun.1

Hey Iβm looking to make new friends0
-
I am both positive(or at least try to be) and a friend! Feel free to add me. Best of luck0

I've done a Tough mudder, and about a dozen other ocrs by other names... Nothing better than mud and obstacles!
I hurt my ankle last fall, so I'm not sure if that means I'm out completely, but I'm still pushing with lifting and boxing. Sometimes you have to let determination step in and fill the gap til motivation comes back home.0 -

Done tough mudders, Spartans , ratraces and many others , I love them , especially if you've got a team ! Can't wait for them to start up again before I'm too old lol1 -

I have enjoyed going as a team for the camaraderie... But found I was held back in terms of endurance... So I also love going solo to see how much of my own butt I can kick. We have Mud Hero (done 6 or 7) and Dirty Donkey (done 4).
Hopefully we're safe to run this summer!1 -

Feel free to add me, too. I was a runner, xfitter, Mtn biker, challenge racer, and backpacker a five years ago. Had a lingering foot injury that stopped everything for a couple years. Since then I got into really bad eating habits and no exercise. For almost a year now I've been working from home. Some days would end with less than 2k steps. I went from my best shape (204lbs) to 235lbs now. I've been rusting and got to a point that even walking was making my knees ache. Wtf?! I'm only 41, and this is the wrong way to go...
I'm two weeks in to using MFP daily, controlling my intake, and starting to focus on at least getting steps in every day. Would love some motivation and community on the journey!1 -
Hey! Just a thought, and an idea stolen from another post some time back. What about making a small group to connect and help each other out? Or eaven maybe do like a weekly meet up call, to hold each other accountable, motivate and celebrate when goals are met?0
-
well, you can add me, but if I'm running its best everyone start running cause something bad is coming LOL
tried running once. best way to describe it was I was like a turtle trying to march through a sludgy swamp LOL0 -
Got positive feedback from @karl05_ for making an accountability group Posting a small outline, and hope some more of you might find it interesting
So, Id like to make an active group of awsome people working together on reaching goals. With its own forum or thread, and have a weekly check in, maybe eaven through a live video call
Share long term goals and set weekly goals to work on from week to week, motivate and hold eachother accountable.
Share knowledge and own experiences, discuss what we are good at, or what our biggest struggles are, and problem solve.
Celebrate every goal met, small or big!
And maybe most of all meet other likeminded amazing people, spread positivity and joy, and have fun!
shout out, or send me a message if you are interested
