Anyone diagnosed with a food allergy as an adult?

Earlier this year I swelled up after eating a piece of fruit. So now I have an official allergy with an epi pen. I also developed Oral Allergy Syndrome to lots of fruits, according to my allergist. Never had an issue with any of this when I was younger. So, partly to stay healthy and partly to avoid taking antihistamines everywhere I go and worry about anaphylaxis for the one fruit that I am truly allergic to, I don't eat fruit. Yup,... no fruit, no fruit smoothies, no yummy fruit gummies or dried fruit, no juices.
Kinda sad situation, but I started a keto diet where you really aren't supposed to eat fruit. I tried to change something that was becoming super depressing into a positive diet. So far, I feel great, and although I miss fruit, I don't miss my tongue swelling or being super itchy in my throat! And yes, my Dr. said you can microwave the foods for 30sec and it will destroy the proteins that cause the Oral Allergy Syndrome. Supposedly you can also peel them, but I'm scared to do just that.1 -
I am anaphylactic to eggs, turkey, lamb, strawberries, nuts, fish and coconut.
It’s really tough because the healthiest foods contain these items.0 -
After having significant hair loss and eczema issues, I had a blood test done to screen for allergies. Turns out beef and egg whites are very high on the list, and to a lesser extent, wheat, tomato, and peanuts. I'm gonna see an allergist to delve even deeper. I'll be crushed if I can't eat eggs again!0

I was constantly sick with migraines, and always breaking out in rashes. Finally got tested. Found out I'm allergic to wheat flour, garlic, black pepper, and a few other random things I never ate anyway.
When I make the effort to avoid those foods in my diet, I am tons better. No migraines, skin cleared up, I have more energy, my bowels became healthier and didn't stink when I "went."1 -
SOY, for me large amounts cause burning mouth, arrhythmia, hives, panic attacks, and bloating. I won't die, but I'll feel like it..so NO

I've always had food sensitivities but lately the reactions have been getting worse. Last night I ate dinner then started feeling tired and sick and then my nose started running so I took an allergy pill and cleared it up. Last week my heart started racing along with the not feeling well and I ended up with a massive sinus headache. So now I am writing down everything that I eat, I'm making a stew for dinner so just wrote down everything that went into it so when I call my dr next week I will be able to hopefully let her know what I think is setting this response off. It's really annoying....I love food and would always just deal worth the discomfort but now it seems to just be going to the extreme.0

Just mango. It makes my tongue and lips tingle and swell. Sometimes pretty severely, so I stay away from mango. This just started in my late 30s for some reason and I have always eaten mango (until then).0

I developed a random allergy to chick peas when I was 51. Took me a bit to figure out what was causing it, my tongue swells up and welts, and my throat itches. So bizarre.0

I have severe OAS too, based on my allergies to grass, rageweed, and birch pollen so I have quite a list of foods to avoid. My allergist did mention that the more you consume something you are allergic to the more likely it is that the reaction can worsen.
I am currently doing allergy shots with hopes that they help. My potato and tomato reactions both include some cooked versions of the products, so those are the real hopes!0 -
Was tested for food allergies, showed some reaction but no true allergy. My Allergist thought maybe food intolerance so am trying Low-FODMAP diet0
