First day on here!

Hello everyone! I started trying to lose weight a year ago, so I started eating healthy and exercising. I managed to lose 31 pounds. But I got stuck, so I decided this year I want to start tracking my calories because I still have a lot more weight to lose (Over 100 pounds). I'm hoping to get the ball rolling again, and I'd love some friends to share this journey with! Add me if you'd like to be friends.

Hi, MissMarie! Nice work, improving your eating and exercise approach last year. Have you found an eating style that works well for you, and exercise you enjoy? IMO, that's kind of magical. Are there things you learned losing 31 pounds - which is pretty impressive! - that you think will be good to do this time, too, or that might help others who haven't yet been as successful?

I have to admit, I'm kind of a slacker on the MFP-friend side of things (more of a Community forums gal, myself), but there are lots of people looking for friends in these threads, in case you haven't visited them already:

Thank you! When I first lost weight, I basically just cut my food intake and started walking a ton. Watched portions. Now I'm focusing on higher protein, and lowering my carb intake as I literally just got out of the prediabetic range and I don't want to go back there. And aiming for getting more veggies and all my water in. I guess I learned I didn't have to cut whole food groups out to lose weight, or things I loved. I just had to eat less and move more. Now I'm also making healthier food choices most of the time.

That sounds like a great, level-headed, sensible plan: Kudos! I'm betting you're going to be very successful, if you do that kind of thing and stick with it over the long haul. Best wishes!
