Thank you go deskercise
Yep. Gotta know your height.2 -
5'5" and 100 lbs? Why such a low weight? I'm also 5'5", and 100 lbs is a 16.6 BMI, which is pretty underweight. If you're going for a certain look, a recomp might give you better results.4

Whoever told you that you need to get down to a very unhealthy weight for a music thingy...you should not listen to that person.9 -
I did lots of music things in high school and it never required me to be at an unrealistic weight. Which is also making me wonder how old you are..1

Oh, I was thinking. I have a performance to get into this college and I feel like I would be more confident1

A goal of being 100 Lbs would put you about 15 Lbs underweight.0 -

Sorry if I sound harsh, but I've dealt with clients who had issues like this WELL after they got out of school with ED. And it sounds like you're willing to do that now. It's NOT something you'll want to have to try to overcome.

If you are just looking for some confidence, maybe setting a more reasonable goal would do the trick.
You could lose 15-20 pounds and still be in a healthy weight range.
HOWEVER, that would not happen quickly. When you don't have a lot to lose, healthy weight loss takes a lot of time and patience. It's never a good idea to attach a deadline (like your performance). Crash dieting could lead to dangerous and unhealthy habits.1 -
It’s in May, that gives me plenty of time. And any diet I’ve tried in the past doesn’t work0

maybe because you don't have anything to lose1 -
I still feel like everything would be better if I got it off??1

If I lost the weight I would feel better0

Trying to get to underweight will not make you feel better. Sorry4

Try mastering a challenging exercise program instead of focusing on a FORTY pound weight loss, which is too much for your height. Start with this. If it's not challenging enough, let us know and we will offer more suggestions.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIdAPUA3GY4

May isn't really enough time to lose 40 pounds, especially in a healthy and safe manner. 15-20 pounds may be doable.
Having said that, how do you feel about your ability to actually PERFORM for the audition? I'd think that would be the main thing I'd focus on for now. No school that's worth anything would discriminate based on size--or at least they shouldn't.
I can understand that you would feel better about yourself performing on stage if you lost some weight. Like others have said, 100 pounds at your height is underweight. Truth be told, you may look strange at that weight (and not in a good way), especially if you've always been on the heavier side.
Trying to lose a large amount of weight in a short amount of time to "look good" for a certain event is often a recipe for disaster, and almost no one keeps it off. At your age, if you focus on educating yourself about healthy eating, and healthy sustainable weight loss, as well as finding some activity you actually enjoy (and not "punishment" for eating) I can pretty much guarantee you'll be so much further ahead than so many other teenagers (and adults, too). You may even be able to avoid the Freshman 15, and hopefully set up habits that will stick with you for life.
I was an overweight teenager once, and went on a crash diet and dropped a lot of lbs quickly. I thought I'd feel so much better about myself, and I did a bit, but I still wanted to be even thinner than I was. I also wanted to weigh 100 lbs at 5'6. The smallest I got to was 115 lbs, and at that point I was aiming to eat 500 calories a day. My body couldn't take it anymore and I ended up getting into this pattern of starving myself, then bingeing. Of course I gained all the weight back, and it set up a pattern for years of this kind of cycle of disordered eating and not feeling happy with myself. So--know that I understand where you are coming from, but hopefully you will learn from what I and others have told you and not fall into that pattern as well.2
