I’d found a good chickpea recipe
On MFP and now I can’t find it...🥴
Anyone got any good recipes for chickpeas? I love them, but I need ideas!

My favourite chickpea dish is chickpea and sweet potato curry I usually chop it all up and any other veggies I can find lying around, then add a sauce of your choice and cook in the slow cooker!2

I use chickpeas quite a lot, especially when trying to eat a little less red meat as it packs a pretty decent protein punch.
Roasted chickpeas for snacks (a little oil and whatever seasoning you like)
Baked Falafel for gyros with some homemade tzatziki.
Chickpea & Mushroom burgers
Chicken thigh, chorizo, chickpea in red wine
I often add them to veggie curry too like Saag Paneer, to make it more filling.

This is one of my favorite recipes! Usually I'll eat it for lunches or dinner with chicken or shrimp. It's also great as breakfast leftovers topped with a fried or poached egg!1 -
I do a lot of vegetarian meals with chickpeas since I don't want to eat meat every single day. Here's a few salads:

Here's one of my favorite winter recipes that also uses chicken for a big serving of protein:

Baked chickpeas make a delightfully chewy/crunchy snack (depending on how long you bake them). You can flavor them however you like - just salt and pepper, Italian herbs, honey sriracha lime, cinnamon...really whatever you have. Coat your cooked chickpeas with whatever, spread on a parchment-lined baking sheet, bake at 350F for 20-30 minutes.1

Chick pea hummus without oil...simple to make in the blender add smoked paprika on top. (google).2

I'm Indian and we use ChickPeas ( Channa ) a lot. I keep canned chickpeas and after draining and rinsing, I like to toss them in a sheet pan and mix with Onion and garlic powder and some Indian curry powder, salt and pepper or cayenne pepper powder for a kick and roast in the oven until they are crispy...I eat them like snacks.
Also... Chickpea Curry with some Poori or Roti is YUM! Also good with Basmati Cumin rice.

I LOVE chickpeas too, but unfortunately my kids don't like beans....but that doesn't stop from trying!

This has a good flavor and pretty easy to make. I add cauliflower for added vegetables.

Just saw this the other day so haven't made it yet, but am definitely trying soon. Sorry, kids!

I love roasted chickpeas for snacking or to top salads. I made some in my Air fryer last night to top my brussel sprouts salad. So good! you can do them in the oven just as easy as well.0

I love chick-un pea salad. Substitute roughly mashed chickpeas in your favorite chicken salad recipe! I also love making salad dressing with them-- pureed chickpeas with a touch of catsup, apple cider vinegar, and finely chopped pickles makes a great low cal/ no fat Thousand Island substitute with a protein boost3

I sometimes use white beans or chickpeas as a starch. Just heat up a tin of drained chickpeas in some leftover gravy or other leftover sauce and serve your protein on top. Pictured version used white haricots warmed up with a chopped paprika and frozen peas in some shellfish bisque I had in the freezer, pan fried hake topped with gremolata and drizzled with a herb oil.

I did a thai inspired curry recipe that involved chickpeas and butternut squash.
I also do quesadillas with chickpeas.
I tend to throw chickpeas in things just to bulk them up in general, so soups, curries, etc.
Here are two recipes that I like:

Fish (tuna) is more expensive here so I like to make chickpea mayo sandwich filling/salad. I drain them, crush most of them (leaving some whole/chunky), and I like some raw diced red onion and about a tbsp of mayo. A splash of lemon juice if you like it tangy. One can will do two nice servings of about 200 cal each, depending on your additions.0
