How to best enter calories for grapefruit?

Hi all,
I have been wondering how to enter calories for items such as grapefruit, banana or oranges? You only eat the inside not the Peel.
I have a scale so I'm trying to be more accurate.
My grapefruit half weighted 230 grams. I ate the insides and after, I weighed only the Peel (60 grams).
Now in my diary, do I put 230 grams or 160 grams?
Curious to hear how others handle this! Thanks.

170 grams. But I usually don’t bother with subtracting the peels, to me, it is not that important to be so precise. Not saying you shouldn’t. Weighing things gets you good at eyeballing.

    Only weigh the edible portion

I weigh the whole grapefruit (or orange or whatever), eat the part I want, then weigh the stuff I'll be discarding/composting, subtract, and log the amount eaten.

This. Even if it means bagging up the banana peel / apple core from my packed lunch at work and taking it home again to weigh.
  • solo pesa lo que te vas a comer o procura buscar la información de la fruta en peso con cascara, pero lo que realmente te aporta es su interior.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the replies and glad to hear I'm not the only one weighing the peels, etc. For a moment I thought I was doing overkill.

I weigh the fruit and subtract about 25% and that’s close enough for me. I don’t want to haul peels home from work
