Introverts Unite!

There is a cowboy code of ethics.
#1 Be kind and gentle to children, seniors and critters
#2 Always practice good animal husbandry
#3 Always help people in distress. My grandpaw practiced this almost to a fault. He helped all of the hitchhikers along the road that came by the house in the country. He gave them food and sometimes he would put them up in a room for the night out back. Bunkhouse. One time he was robbed and they hit him over the head with a bottle of whiskey. Took his wallet. My grandpaw was out of this world when it came to kindness.
#4 Always tell the truth and never go back on your word
#5 Work hard and give it your all
Never let anyone pigeonhole you or make you feel less than or small. Don't let anyone ever dull your sparkle.
Don't wait until you're standing at the gate to do what you need to do. Wring everything you can out of this life.
When you get to the final gate all of the identifiers will be clipped off. The playing field is level.
You can't buy your way in because your money is no good there. So you better be kind, stay sweet and act pretty.

So many people here... I think I'll hang out with my dog some more. Talk amongst yourselves, folks.
No, I love you all, really I do.
I just have a really good book I'm halfway through reading...2 -
Hi, I'm an INFJ. I love to be with family or a small group of friends but I absolutely need and love quiet "me" time. Though I miss some activities and people this quarantine has not been nearly as difficult for me as it has been for some. In fact I have loved not having to make excuses not to do things!1

Oooh... I took the test. Yep, I am ISFJ-T.1

Hi!
I've been somewhat introverted all my life, even more so after a relationship gone wrong. It's definitely easier to connect with people over the internet.2 -
This is random but it doesn't really belong over there. I used to believe that the Queen of England never had to use the facilities. Ever. I just knew that she didn't have to bother with puberty or toilet paper or anything that other humans do. I knew the Q of E never had to sit on the ol' thunder mug. When it was time for the puberty talk I crawled down to the floorboards while my mother was telling me about it. She took me for a ride. I cried and cried. I tried to figure out ways that I would never have to go through any of those things. I did think of a way but it didn't work. It happened. I was so embarrassed. Ooo, I remember how it was in gym class.
The body has its ways of keeping you humble at all times. It's a level playing field.3 -
Fellow introvert here... Nice to see us unite!. Now back to my cubby hole2

I think I identified some introverts in real life!
Picture the scene: I was waiting in a classroom for a meeting to begin, watching everyone and narrating in my head just like usual. There were about six or eight people, and zero conversation when a young couple breezed into the room with a few wobbly little kids. To no one in particular, the young man blurted out an awkward round of "kids say the darndest thing." Then the young wife blurted out a response, and the whole thing reminded me of a practiced vaudeville routine minus all the funny parts.
Crickets. No one said a word.
I suppose I should have responded in some way, but I'm an introvert ... what do you want from me? Instead, I just left them swaying there in the breeze until their smiles faded and they sat down to wait with the rest of us. At least they have each other, and the small herd of children they made6 -
aww look at you chatty lot 🤗
Hope all you introverts have a peaceful day2 -
Poking my head in here before I go to sleep. I would read a book but my eyes are tired of staying open.0

Goodnight Nadine 🤗1 -
Supposedly, I'm an ambivert but I resemble what's being said on this thread, @slimgirljo15 You're diplomatic and a great facilitator. You've got the knack for bringing things to a peaceful resolution. If there was anyone who could facilitate world peace, it would be you. There are countries that need you. My family needs you. Our reunions turn into a big sheetstorm. No one can stand each other when we leave but we can hardly wait for the next one.1

aww thank you 🤗 you always say the nicest things and I really appreciate it lovely one ❤1 -
@slimgirljo15 We have too much sibling rivalry, pecking order in the chicken yard but one aunt always says she's not happy until all of her lil chickens are back home in their roosts. She doesn't care where her children live but she's not happy if they're on the road. She wants everyone home. Safe and sound in their roosts. Then she can breathe a sigh of relief. Are you that way about your lil chickens?1

Absolutely.. If I know they are travelling I can't wait for them to be off the roads and safely home.1 -
Is "introvert" the same as "shy?" I don't think it is.3
-
@jamloche No, siree.1
-
^^ Also in agreement.
While I can have shy moments in specific 1-on-1 contexts/scenarios, it's not due to my being introverted.3 -
@MaltedTea Spot on. We learn to swim through the sharky waters in all kinds of ways.2

The best definition of introvert is someone who recharges by being alone. So, at the end of a long, hard day, do you want unwind alone maybe with a good book, video game or solitary walk (introvert) or with a group of friends maybe at a bar or a party (extrovert). It has nothing to do with social skills that can be learned by anyone.2 -

But ... are there shy extroverts? I don't think there are.0 -

ISFP here, rejoining MFP after several years away. Trying to be in solidarity with my roommate who is trying to lose weight for health reasons (I have PCOS so I’m right there with her with needing to get fit for my health 😅). I prefer the comfort of cheering on from behind my keyboard, so count me in!0

yeah that's basically me...0
