Weight Loss Surgery Support, Before, during, and after

People think that weight-loss surgery was the easy way out. Let me tell you, it's not. I'm looking for a group of individuals who are in their weight loss surgery journey either before, during, or after surgery. I find that on-going motivation and support is difficult to locate. Let's help each other!

I see it as taking a life boat off a sinking ship. You might get to shore by swimming, but you also might die in the process. It's for sure not easy, but it's a lifesaver.5

Here is my tid bit on surgery. I had it done Feb of 2017. I didn't know as much as I wish I had. I lose nearly 100 lbs in the first 6 months and then I started to gain it back. I got frustrated and I admit I gave up. 3 weeks ago I got to the point were I'd gained all but 6 lbs of it back and I said enough is enough. I called my NUT and got back on track. I started with a stage 2 now I'm at a stage 3. I've lost 16lbs since March 6th. I count, I measure and I walk three times a week with friends at work (who have had the surgery too). It's hard. Do I want candy of course, ice cream, yeah sometimes. Fast food, OMG yes! Can I have any of it? Sure... if I'm responsible with my eating. What's the saying about the word FAIL? First Attempt In Learning. ... get back on the wagon... if you fall off. Get back on again and again. You will get it.6

Hello everyone, I'm Regina aka Losingforlyfe - I've been looking for a group to connect with who understand the ups and downs of weight loss surgery. I had GVS in Feb 2020 and no one including my surgical team could have prepared me for the journey I was about to embark on. I loss 69lbs to date which is past my weight loss goal. I've made some drastic changes in my life however, every day is still a struggle with cravings and not wanting to exercise but as I think of my health scare before, the risk of surgery, and what will happen if I get too relaxed, I NEED to keep motivated in order to live my most healthy life and continue to learn about what my body needs are. This is a lifelong journey that has positively trickled over into my huge family. Lots of bumps in the road but lots of changes and impactful healing.1

I had my Roux-en-Y bypass in 2009 and lost 97 pounds. Since then I’ve been yo-yoing on and off. I need to get off this cycle!! Feel free to add me!1
