Machka--sending hugs and prayers for you and DH.

Thank goodness it is Friday, I am so ready for the weekend and 2 days off. It has been an busy week and something going on the last 3 evenings and tonight so be after 9 when we get home.

It is raining here today and sounds like we could get some snow tonight and then Sunday be in the 60's so won't last long. I did tell DH since we are both off tomorrow and the weather is going to be nasty we are going to pull everything in the living and dinning room away from the walls and clean the baseboards. It has been way to long since we have done that. End of May we will be in our house 18 years. Longest I have lived in one place.

Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND NE <3

Hi everyone. It's kind of cool and misty here today. Makes me want to sleep, like I need an excuse! I'm trying to stay focused and work here, but my two new kitties are making it difficult! They just woke up from a nap.

Lisa: I just had to laugh out loud at your rant. I'm in the same camp as you!

I'll be glad when this semester is over. I discovered I had several things added to my official workload so I was working the equivalent of 1.44 FTE, or 1 1/4 people, and half of it has been in this semester. No wonder I've been crazy.

DH is at his 12 step group then will pick up the grocery order from the first store, then head to the 2nd store a little later for that order. I sure do like this; I hope stores don't stop the online ordering when the pandemic is "over".

    Take care Meg from Omaha

Did a DVD for the bosu today. Work tomorrow so no formal exercise.

Heather – I keep a notebook with all my passwords. Of course, the passwords are for things like cooking sites, exercise site, nothing real important.

Karen – the heat of the dishwasher doesn’t affect the toys?

Regarding COVID changing things – Food Lion is not giving out any more rain checks? Know why? Because of COVID. They don’t know when it’ll be in the warehouse. Does it really matter? Even if it never gets to the warehouse, what difference does it make if you give a rain check or not? I’ve seen other stores doing this, too. The Salvation Army is now opening later in the morning and closing earlier in the evening.

Right now it’s a bit chilly. I hope it warms up because I would like to clean the grates for the oven later today after the soup kitchen. Update: it hasn't warmed up so I'll save that for another day when it's warmer.

Allie – will you have to install the battery yourself or are you going to take it somewhere. A friend of ours needed a new batter so she came to Vince hoping that he could change it. He looked at a uTube video of how to do it, and it was just crazy. Some computers it’s no problem. But this one was ridiculous. I think she finally took it to Best Buy and they changed it for her.

I usually try to respond to an email as soon as I get it otherwise, I usually will forget it

Lisa – I remember when my aunt used to do a lot of quilting (mostly hand quilting), she would put a drop of glycerin on her hands. I guess this helped so that she could hold the material better. Being able to take anything as a business expense on your taxes is always a good feeling

Regarding husband’s changing their hygiene habits: I know this isn’t the same thing, but poor, poor Lexi. She used to be so very very meticulous. When she went to the litter box, after she got done burying, you would never know she was in there. Here’s a picture of when we first got her with the bandage for the dislocated hip.yf8cvfgzp3pi.jpg
With all the adhesive, we thought for sure we’d have to give her a bath. We were sure one way that she was abused was by keeping her under water because she was very terrified of water. Do you know that we didn’t have to give her one bath? She got all the adhesive off by herself, and that must have been a big job. Right now you can see how her coat sometime has mats, she’ll poop not only in the litter box but in the mudroom (where the box is located) and on one of the cat trees, her fur isn’t well maintained at all.

Finished cleaning the windows in the house. I do want to wash the curtains in the sunroom but I need Vince to get them down. Next year I’ll wash the curtains in our room. Gave Bonnie the first dose of her chemo med. Boy, did she ever put up a fight! I bet the pill tastes horrible so I suggested to Vince that if we need to give it to her again, maybe after we give it to her we should give her some gravy, just to get that taste out of her mouth

M – sending good thoughts. How much more can you take???? (((HUG)))

(((Machka))): Waiting for test results is stressful in my experience. Sending good thoughts both you & your DH. :flowerforyou:

Meg: It is so good to see you again. It appears that you have plenty to keep you busy. !.44 FTE is a heavy load. It is good that your DH will be able to pick up your grocery orders. :star:

We woke up to hot coffee in our new coffeemaker. It was delicious but and more zingy than we’ve been used to drinking. The old coffee maker had become problematic. We’re debating donating the old pot to the senior center thrift store. The other option is to drop it off at the recycle center. I’m leaning toward the recycle center. DH is on the fence.

Matchka- glad you finally got to go home. Hope things turn out well.

Meg- good to see you again. Wow you have a heavy work load there.

Penny - loved the paddock for the horses.

DGD was here last night. It was good to see her. Haven't seen her since Christmas. She picked out some yarn colors and I have started an Afghan for her. She has been diagnosed with PCOS and is having a really hard time with her weight but she has started swimming again and I hope that will help some. She is also teaching swim lessons and really enjoying it especially the littles as she calls them, 3 and 4 year olds.

One of our grandchildren is currently in the hospital for tests. We are waiting anxiously and hoping for positive news. Our son and daughter in law are with him. I don’t expect to hear anything for a while.

<3Machka, What an ordeal for you and your husband. I hope you are both getting some much needed sleep.

:) Somehow my nicely choreographed day got overfilled so now I am enjoying a much needed rest at the computer to visit with all of you.

:) Our grocery store intends to continue curbside pickup even when people are feeling safer going into stores.. We plan to continue. We like it better than going into the store.

My son did not have a will and while his estate is very small ... we have to go through surrogates court for my husband to be named the natural guardian of his estate. And, of course, nothing is moving fast in the courts due to Covid. Each morning I get on the computer and open up my son's banking accounts to make certain something hasn't slipped past us and been debited from his account. Such a pain, but by doing so, I have been able to reverse several charges that should not be occurring now that he is deceased.

It was a hard week for my husband, son and I. We're all down. Cold, rainy weather isn't helping.

Barbie .... spiritual growth experience when allowing husband to share your computer ... :D

Beth please accept my condolences. This must be so hard for you. Please take some time for yourself to grieve and remember.

Thinking of all of you who are going through trials of love. Husbands, children, grandchildren, and all those who are close to us. I sometimes think it is easier to be the one suffering than to be the one who loves. Not knowing is the worst.

I've woken up early, which is why I'm writing to you. But I'm glad to be feeling that I'm over the worst of the post-jab lurgy. DH didn't have any reaction, apart from a slightly sore arm, either time. I felt fluey last time, and yesterday slightly more so, and needed to take painkillers. This morning, apart from waking up early, I feel much better.
    Hooray!
Next week I may venture into town and enter a shop, suitably masked. I need pyjama bottoms. My efforts to buy online were not a huge success.

Still working on my LPA and information sheet. I'm at the point where I need to print the LPA off and send it out to be signed by all the various parties. It has to be done in the right order. Then it has to be sent off to the authorities.
I haven't decided about the health directive, but will look into it. I will write down my wishes on my info sheet. I might have to make one because DH is not really able to make those kinds of decisions. But I don't know who to choose.

Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx
