10k steps - what activity level?

Morning,

If I get 10k steps a day and no other exercise, does anyone know what activity level MFP would class that as please?

Thank you

Agreed. It could be more, according to the intensity of the movement. For now active will most likely suffice. If weight drops too fast, increase calories or decrease intensity. Jmho

I am surprised how few people don't routinely get 10,000 steps in per day. Most don't so that is definitely considered active.

This surprises me too! I regularly get 8,000 a day just wandering around my house! :D

I work at a desk all day too. I must have ants in my pants the rest of the day, I guess.

If you work at a desk all day, it can be difficult to get to that number without some effort. I know I have to take purposeful walks on my work breaks to get anywhere near that number.

Same here -- if I don't intentionally move and don't have errands, I think my default would be about 3,000 steps (I currently work from home and live in a small apartment).

    Thank you all.
I work at a desk 3 days a week and walk to and from work so average 10-12k on those days.

Depends what I do on the other day, sometimes east, sometime not.

You must have a big house or walk around all day. The most I get without intentional exercise is about 3-4K.

Lots of stairs, lots of kids, lots of stuff that wanders off to wrong places and has to be put back. ;)
