I’m here to do the work and lose the weight. My ultimate body weight goal is 155 pounds, half of my current weight. I don’t remember a time since 12 years old I was under 200 pounds. This is my final and last attempt of reaching a health goal on my own before medical intervention is needed.
I would love to have friends to help me carry on during the tough moments and celebrate with me through the victories! Are you going to be one of those friends?

People on MFP have done it and are doing it--read a few success threads. You can do it. Just get your daily calorie goal, a digital food scale, and start weighing and measuring everything you eat and drink. Stay within that goal everyday. Don't cut your calories too low or you risk failure. This will take patience. If you can move more, even walking everyday is good to start. Take your measurements weekly and keep a journal. When your weight loss stalls, you can pull out that tape measure and physically see your progress. Read the success threads regularly. Good luck.1

Don’t sabotage yourself with “this is the last attempt” kind of statements. You’re going to have days you win and days, maybe even a week, you don’t. But if you stick to it, this is an easy, sustainable way to lose weight if you have reasonable expectations. But it’s not a magic pill. You’re not going to wake up in three months thin and svelte.
Here’s some threads that might be helpful:

The Success Stories threads kept me going through struggle-y periods. Especially the NSV (non scale victories) thread. ‘Cause sometimes the scale don’t see it, but your belt loops might be screaming “victory”! .

Good luck with your journey 😊0
