Need Help! New To Working Out

I'm a 36yr old female. I'm 5'8 and currently 220lbs. Had gastric sleeve surgery August 2020. I work out 5 times a week, but I feel like I have no direction. I'm not really seeing results.
I'd love to meet someone who can help me gain some confidence at the gym.

What kind of results do you want to see? What's your goal at the gym and what kind of exercise do you like?

    Hi Yirara!
I currently do 30mins of cardio, and then "weight training". But I don't know how much time I should spend on each machine and such. I currently have batwings on my arms that I'd to work on and I'd also like to work on my inner thighs.
How long should each work out be? How often? I feel completely lost when it comes to weight training and therefore discouraged.

I highly recommend looking for a workout program to follow. Check out the post titled “Most Helpful Posts - Fitness and Exercise (Must Reads)” at the top of the forum, and then click on “Which lifting program is the best for you?” (Sorry, I don’t know how to link to it.) You will get much better results following a program than just winging it at the gym. Consistency and progressive overload are super important. You should pick a program that suits the number of days per week you want to work out, and the amount of time you can regularly dedicate. It’s easy to be unrealistic or overly ambitious when choosing a program - sustainability is key, you want something you can stick to. And also something you like doing! Best of luck :)
