Sync more than just steps from Apple watch health app?

Is there a way to sync data from the health app instead of just steps? I'd like everything to sync like exercise, calories burned, etc. Seems like I have to enter exercise manually then it cancels out the calories earned from the steps.

Right now you have used MFP app to select a Step Source of your device, this works on many devices.
It means MFP gets steps and that is it. Since steps has no calories from it, MFP makes some super rough estimates as to distance that may have caused, and from that a rough calorie burn.
Of course it has no idea when you log a workout if the steps were part of it or outside it - so to avoid possibly doubling up calories, it removes the step calories.
If walking is all you did - could be decent estimate. If other workouts - nope.
Sadly Apple does not send the correct info to MFP when you actually link accounts like you can with most activity trackers.
MFP needs to know what your total daily burned calories is to work out your new eating goal (Total burned minus deficit = new eating goal, simple) - but Apple doesn't send that.
In fact what they do send makes the math completely backwards and the more you do the less you get to eat.
Best advice is to find in the MFP apps Pacer - sync MFP with Pacer.
Then from Pacer sync with Apple Health account.
Pacer adds the base, activity, and workout calories together and gives MFP what it's expecting for good math.
It also sends the workouts over.2 -
When you work out open the exercise on your watch and start. I use it for the elliptical and treadmill. I choose the elliptical option, then end and choose indoor walking when I’m ready for that. MFP adds those calories burned right into my diary.1

And if you have them synced - you are actually getting no benefit from them - as if you didn't do them.
So you get the sad effect of doing a hard workout, and making a bigger deficit - a great way for workouts to start getting ineffective.1
