Reflection: My monthly average is still slightly up from last month, though my rolling 7-day is down from last week. I probably need to have a think about what I am eating, especially at lunch time. I haven't been tracking for the last week or so; I think I need to go back to doing that (with mfp set to lose 1kg/month). The plus side is that I am enjoying exercise and if there is an upwards trend it is very slight. This still feels like a good place to be.

Successes/struggles of the week: Still not pleased that my weight is still above my maintenance range, but it's a bit down from last week, so there's that. I got in quite a lot of steps this week, with two 16k step days in the middle of the week, and I'm currently at 19k steps today after a long walk to and from brunch.3 -

I’d like to lose a bit to get back to 70 kg, but I’m still happy at around 75 kg.
I’m experimenting with seeing how my satiety levels are in relation to the types of foods I eat. Trying to eat more whole foods, which I’ve been getting pretty good at, and less sugar, and it’s going quite well.

Things I’m watching:
I generally pop up 1-2 pounds with the first summer heat wave > 90 degrees, usually 2nd week in July. It came a month earlier this year. Sure enough, I’m up. Looking back I see I go up first heat wave & drop back first week of much colder weather in the fall.
My steps are lower, but I did turn that around by getting up early to walk or walking after dark the past few days!
One of my remaining habits that I need to figure out a solution for & practice is: Eating when in pain or really uncomfortable.
1) I am renewing my research on having A/C installed in our home. Summer temps are definitely increasing & they seem to effect me more each decade.
2) I always drink a lot of water, but I’m increasing that amount.
3) brainstorming something I can say to myself “I know you’re jot, but eating will only make you feel more hot”
4) List things I can do when it’s hot:
* Take a cold shower or bath
* Run cold water or hold a refrigerated can/ice pack on wrists or feet
* watch a show
* distract with hand stitching
* Call a friend/family member
* Go to safe, air conditioned place (can’t think of one with covid, but will keep mulling this over)
* Ask my friend if I can come swim at her house

Reflection: Trend is currently up (a bit). I am still exercising most mornings but due to the heat and pressures of work have been walking less (though weeding a lot more, but that clearly uses less energy, though the garden is looking good); I am not currently logging food but am probably also eating a bit more. This week I want to build a walk into my day. On the plus side, this time last year I weighed in at 85.3kg, so nearly 10kg more than today. Also I took photos this past week which show that I definitely have more muscle definition (some abs are showing!) though I'd still like to see some tightening up on my lower tummy and upper arms.0 -

Success of the week: I cooked something that should be easy but that I've always had a hard time getting right, and I got it right!
Struggle of the week: Excess heat for one thing. Yesterday was a little over 100F, and it's forecast to be that hot again tomorrow. Today it's forecast to 111F. The other is nothing new; continued struggle shaking back off the weight I gained fourth quarter 2020.

Struggles:
Gastro issues although cleared completely by gastroenterologist. Possibly due to transplant meds, but they don’t want to change them, which I understand…they’re working!
Real difficulty figuring out what to eat.
Fatigue
Not as buoyant, in general. Likely “down” because my antibodies are 0% despite both vaccines.
I WILL navigate this. Just lousy timing as summers are always tough for me.
PS It’s embarrassing to post these ridiculous trends etc, but I know shame / embarrassment often causes folks to stop or stop posting. I’m taking the opposite approach & joining more groups to post in. Facing the scale works for me. I am not going to gain this weight back.

Weight lost: 86kg to 80 kg (January-August 2012); 85 kg to 69 kg (October 2014 - March 2016); 88kg to present weight (May 2020 - now)
maintained (i.e. was below 77.5 kg, and mostly below 75 kg) from February 2015-July 2017; was then put on a medication and gained 2 kg in a month; went on sabbatical (away from scales; lots of conference meals); hit (peri-)menopause and lost track of things except to note that I was steadily gaining and back to 85/86 kg.
Lost to 81 kg at Easter 2020 (top of normal bmi for me), but then gained back to 88 kg in April/May (Easter egg binge; lock down closed the pool...).

Reflection: Trend is currently still up though I did drop down below 75.5kg in the middle of this week. I am not that surprised as I tweaked my back a bit last week, and then, as that was getting better, managed to skinned the part of the palm of one hand, so have been doing less exercise. And we had a very late night cheese and wine snack last night, folowed by a short night, so that might have something to do with today's weigh in.

Successes/struggles of the week:
I’m celebrating getting into my ‘maintenance range’ this week… I set myself 27.6lb to lose to hit goal, and earlier today it hit me that I am now officially within my +/- 4lb range - yay! - and hence this is my first post here, which I have very much been looking forward to.
(I got to goal weight 2 years ago but ‘failed’ at maintenance and regained it: this time I aim to keep it off for good, and posting here will be a part of my ongoing commitment)6 -
