What is your plan for using protein shakes for weight loss?0

I'll drink at least one a day, often 3-5. I'm on a pretty significant cut and aim for 30g protein every 3 hours, so I use shakes to supplement in the event I'm not eating to those numbers.2

Meet the protein goal as help with food consumption.0 -

OK. What do you eat otherwise? If your goal is weight loss, you don't really need to worry about macros so much (carbs/fat/protein), except as far as figuring out satiety for yourself. I just think there are probably better ways to spend ~150 calories, give or take, and still get some protein, if that's what does it for you. Do you eat animal products?1 -

A protein supplement doesn't do anything for weight loss.tannic2k5465 wrote: »goal06082021 wrote: »What is your plan for using protein shakes for weight loss?

Meeting some amount of protein really doesn't do anything for weight loss either. When dieting it can be beneficial to consume more than the RDA for protein to help preserve muscle mass...but that would also be in conjunction with a solid resistance training program and I'd wager the latter is more important.
What are your protein targets? A lot of people go way overkill. Do you eat animal products? I rarely use a protein supplement and definitely don't need more than one in a given day.1 -

That's a bit like making an argument for having gasoline or tires being more important to making a trip in your car.
