Hello from Melbourne Australia. Health issues and life stress/changes leading to 45 kg weight gain over 4 yrs on a 'quite healthy' vegetarian diet. So far loving the insights logging my food is bringing.

Yup. It all comes down to calories in vs calories out, and people--just, as a species--are incredibly bad judges of both of those things. It's not our fault, though; our brains are still running on 10,000-year-old software (so to speak), optimized for survival in conditions where it was considerably harder to get calories in and required spending a lot more calories out.1
