One small thing!

I don't have a lot of friends. So I'm starting this to help motivate and hold me accountable. One small thing I did today was say no to the amazing chocolate filled brownies that my co worker brought in. It's not much, but I need to get back on track. What small thing did you do today?

I did not look at the bear claws from Panera,
I did not eat any
I know small things add up, one day at a time , 1 hr at a time, yes we can10 -
Today, I walked (1 and a half miles x2) between buildings at my job vs taking the provided shuttle.13

I wanted a treat. I reached for sugar free gum. 🏆8

My small thing today had nothing to do with food or physical health. I struggled today with my depression. I had a hard fight today, but tomorrow is a new day.15

Ok. I’m feeling a little extra bad about the dumb brownie I ate today. I’m inspired by your self control.
My one small thing today is creating an online presence here, reaching out for help and offering support & appreciation to others.11 -
I took a mile walk in the woods.10

I ate the bite sized Snickers bars They weren't worth it. Lesson learned. Today I forgave myself for giving in when I pretty much already knew that they weren't going to serve me well, but ate them anyway. And I'm tossing the rest of the bag. My win was a good long walk outside, and my body weight routine that makes me feel like a Herculean queen11

Made an amazing lasagna tonight, but instead of wating a big portion. I had a small bit and a side salad.8

Nice @nitestar7580 ! Pasta is one of my weaknesses. But, I do love a good salad3

May be running back and forth to the bathroom today... only because I've increased my water intake!!!! Lol3

I walked outside in the humidity. Gross. I pushed through it and will do the remaining exercise indoors. The other small thing so far today is that I stayed out of the kitchen. I will nibble too much!4

I drank water this morning instead of starting the day off with tea. I know it seems silly but I've been struggling with my water intake lately, which is especially bad because of how hot and humid it has been.3

I had veggie sticks instead of the doritos I really wanted. Still unsure as to whether I'm at peace with that decision, but I'm sure it'll be good in the long-run 😉6

So mad I let myself over eat yesterday. Well today is a new day. I prepped my food for the day this morning to make sure I stay on track today!!!4

awwww i love this thread guys! keep it up!!
some days will be good and some not so good, but try to make each day better than the one before !1 -
Reading this thread and having lost 45lbs and kept it off for three years, I think people should know, you can have the snickers. You can have the cake. You can eat the ice cream.
Life is short. It’s meant to be spent enjoying. Food can be social enjoyment.
The first year and a half I was like most people on this thread. I was so afraid that a piece of cake some how may break all of my hard work. Honestly, it doesn’t.
I would encourage people to learn about their TDEE. Understand CICO. Learn portion sizes to calorie ratios. Have a nutrition plan that you know will meet your life goals. Whether that’s needing higher protein for muscle gains, more carbs for endurance or a balance of all three micro nutrients that ensures you can meet your nutrition plan and feel full.
If you spend time working on understanding how your body process these nutrients, and have a daily calorie goal in mind, I’m pretty sure a 200 calorie snicker bar here or a piece of cake for a birthday party there, will not be your demise.
Again, it took me almost two years to trust myself. This past summer has been the best summer. As I’ve maintained my goal weight (+/- 3lbs), and enjoyed weekend ice cream runs, restaurant food and desserts. And I’ve enjoyed all of that with my family and friends.
Just some advise from a guy that’s been in your shoes. Have the 🍪! But have a plan too!8 -

I’ll be 50 in ten months. I’m active on MFP daily. I lost 45lbs and have kept it off for three years. I’m in maintenance and workout 5 days/week. Feel free to friend me. I’m a bit of a motivator.2 -
Starting over again one day at a time0
