I wore a sports bra that was too small 6 months ago. It's probably not really a great cut for me - now looks a little big in some parts, but feels fine and was very comfortable. I'm glad I can get some wear out of it anyway.18

Yesterday I finally fit back into my expensive sports bras again--the Panache ones that really give GOOD support. Now I can try some new high impact classes at the gym.

I have check bones again.22

This might be a slightly unusual NSV but after losing 70lbs I noticed a little bit of loose skin on my lower abs today. It is just a tiny loose band, but it is the 1st time in my life I have seen anything like this. I am not unhappy, I am actually quite pleased to see these changes in my body. I have about 15 lbs left to lose and I am losing slowly now, just about to change from 1lb a week to 0.5lbs a week.22

I'm 50 years old, and yesterday was the first time since my 20s that I could take my shirt off at the beach without feeling embarrassed. Also, I was trying on some old clothes, and I was able to fit into a really nice shirt and pants I own for the first time in well over ten years. I plan on wearing them to a party this weekend, and to be completely vain and shallow, I'm looking forward to hearing everyone I haven't seen in over a year comment on how much weight I've lost! (About 40+ pounds... not nearly as much as some people here but a lot for me.)32

Was working in a stadium venue this week and due to weather, we all had to scramble from the field and up stadium stairs while carrying gear. Not only could I do it, but I wasn't even winded. Whoohoo!24

y'all...I just ran! I work an office job, so I try to make sure I get up and walk the hall a bit every hour. I noticed that no one in that hall seemed to be in their office, and I was walking really fast and feeling great and I thought, "why not?" So I did!
It wasn't far, and my body applauded, of course (tummy slapping my legs) so I'll keep working on that. XD
But I just ran! and it felt GREAT!36 -

40 pounds is absoluetly amazing! Congratulations, that's a huge victory10 -
@WJK3 don't be surprised if people don't comment on your weight loss. They will notice it but are not sure if you will be fine if they comment about it. Believe it or not, there are threads on the boards from people who were offended by the comments they received, for example, "I'm so proud of you". Or some people don't know if you lost weight due to illness so they just don't say anything. Be proud of yourself but don't rely on the validation of others.20

There are fresh homemade cookies in the kitchen.
I am not eating them.
I'm not really hungry. I'm hot and I'm thirsty and it's been a long day and my shoulders are sore. (bra issues.)
So I'm not going to eat cookies just because they are there.17 -
When I was younger, maybe in my 40s, I read about a woman who lost weight; part of her routine was a daily 5 mile bike ride. That seemed like a lot, quite far.
I don't know why I thought of that today, on my bike ride . . . which was 23+ miles.
The NSV is not that 23 miles is a huge distance, because I know it isn't: People ride centuries and more. The NSV was that it *wasn't* a huge distance to me, just a slightly longer than average, enjoyable afternoon bike ride.
If a friend had told that younger me that 65-year-old me would be riding 20+ miles, thinking that was pretty uneventful, younger me would've thought that friend had lost their mind.
If a person chips away at doing things a little differently, gradually, over a long period of time, sometimes I think they can surprise themselves with where they end up. I sure have.32 -
The size XXL moisture wicking racer back shirts I ordered from Amazon in late March began with a fit that was more like a sausage casing, now look just a bit too big.
Glad I only ordered two. They’ll be headed to the give away box soon, I’m sure.
Also? Most of my pants are starting to be very very loose in the waist. Because (reasons) I only wear elastic waist pants, so I’ll replace the elastic and just keep on keeping on.18 -

Agreed. Other people’s reactions are unpredictable, at best. And if they say nothing, don’t worry too much about it.
The last social event I went to was also the first large gathering of friends (80+ people) since COVID. Forget about my 40 lb weight loss! It was the first time most of those people saw me with my new rollator, instead of the two canes I had been using.
I suspect many of the people there who don’t know me as well as my best friends do thought I’ve come down with something drastic, rather than the condition I’ve been dealing with for years and years.
One person said they noticed my weight loss, in a congratulatory way. And that was perfectly fine by me. Because I got the public acknowledgment, but also wasn’t overwhelmed by people fawning all over me saying I look “GREAT!”13 -

YAY!!!! I love this -4 -
I have logged my food for 28 straight days, including through 8 family events in the last six weeks, and a plateau (perhaps induced by the 8 family events), is a huge step forward for me. I have learned that consistency is key, as is persistence when I feel stuck. Plateau broke yesterday.22

Three days this week co workers brought in fresh, glorious donuts and I did not partake of a single one! This is the first time I've been able to abstain for that many days in a row26

I went out with friends for lunch. I planned so that I’d have a decent calorie allowance. I stuck to one alcoholic drink and left some of my lunch on my plate as it was a big portion. I felt like I’d probably gone over but I’ve just logged it and it came out roughly as expected. It feels incredible to feel like I’ve had a hugely indulgent, sociable day without being derailed. This is a huge victory - feels like I’m finally making it work.25

My most noticable one recently is my portion sizes. They've become so much smaller over time without me even realising it. I had a steak today for the first time in aaaages. I'd bought 2 x 8oz steaks thinking my hubby and I would eat them one day when the kids are staying at their grandparents'. But we felt like having them today and I didn't have anything else in for the kids, so we shared them. Hubby and I had 5oz and the kids had 3oz each. We loaded up on veggies and I didn't even finish the meat I had - I gave the last chunk to the cat because I was full! A year or so ago that would have been unthinkable. My plate would have been loaded high with fries and onion rings, and I'd have probably finished off what everyone else left too.17

Absolutely! If you can enjoy while dieting, then it will be sustainable. Congrats8 -
I've been on a slow backward slide for around 4 months. This week something clicked, I guess. I have done well for 4 consecutive days in a row, and for the first time in months I feel in control and a little bit motivated.26

Darn right, I do!
No, seriously, I'm awful at accepting compliments, but thank you. I feel SO GOOD. It's weird as heck.6 -
Today the mobile vet came to the house, and we ended up doing exams on all three cats INCLUDING Sable the ninja cat who weighs 16lbs and HATES to be held. It's been three years since we were able to catch and hold her long enough to get everything done. Even the vet's assistant usually can't hold her because she's really STRONG and she wiggles like an eel.
So my NSV today was that I had the flexibility and arm strength to hold Sable in place during the whole exam and the vaccinations. It required repositioning her multiple times while she tried to squirm free, and I managed it easily. Interestingly Sable seemed to realize she wasn't going to win because by the end, she got tired and kinda gave up. (Don't worry, I wasn't squeezing her uncomfortably or anything. I know the proper techniques.)
On the downside, both Sable and one of my other cats (Chester) are now officially on a diet to lose weight. That means I''ll have to stop free-feeding them and establish mealtimes. I'm not looking forward to all the meowing that will ensue, but it has to be done. Meanwhile, my third cat (Sprite) needs to GAIN weight, so I'll need to feed her separately.
Guess we're ALL going to be getting healthy around here, felines included!17 -
Sorted my clothes today and put away everything that no longer fit. I won’t go shopping until I’m at goal but dang! If this isn’t a good representation of the change that has happened in my life, I don’t know what is. 54lbs gone, 14 to go!

My nsv of the day is definitely a mental one. I cried happy tears when my boyfriend handed me the box to something we ate so I could scan it! It's the first time anyone has done that for me and it feels amazing to have someone in my corner that much.26

I've put off buying any new clothes because I still have 30 pound to my goal, but I needed a few things. I've been wearing XXL shirts pretty much forever. A couple of the ones I bought today are L.25

I can comfortably cross my legs. I can walk a flight of stairs without getting winded. 🤸♀️16

I can paddleboard! STANDING UP (sometimes).18

I was able to put on a pair of tight jean shorts without having to struggle them up over my butt/hips! I could also button them without a fight!14
